Ablation of LRP6 in alpha‐smooth muscle actin‐expressing cells abrogates lung inflammation and fibrosis upon bleomycin‐induced lung injury

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Low‐density lipoprotein receptor‐related protein 6 (LRP6) is a key receptor for the Wnt antagonist Dickkopf1 (DKK1). DKK1 protein expression is induced in a bleomycin (BLM)‐induced lung injury model. We show that DKK1 induces proinflammatory and profibrotic genes in lung fibroblasts.

On the application of clustering for extracting driving scenarios from vehicle data

open access: yesMachine Learning with Applications, 2022
If we want to extract test cases from driving data for the purpose of testing vehicles, we want to avoid using similar test cases. In this paper, we focus on this topic.

QFL: Data-Driven Feedback Loop to Manage Quality in Agile Development [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Background: Quality requirements (QRs) describe desired system qualities, playing an important role in the success of software projects. In the context of agile software development (ASD), where the main objective is the fast delivery of functionalities, QRs are often ill-defined and not well addressed during the development process. Characteristics of the Kelch domain containing (KLHDC) subfamily and relationships with diseases

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Kelch protein superfamily includes 63 members, with the KLHDC subfamily having 10 proteins. While their functions are not fully understood, recent advances in KLHDC2's structure and role in protein degradation have highlighted its potential for drug development, especially in PROTAC therapies.

De novo virulence feature discovery and risk assessment in Klebsiella pneumoniae based on microbial genome vectorization

open access: yesCommunications Biology
Bacterial pathogenicity has traditionally focused on gene-level content with experimentally confirmed functional properties. Hence, significant inferences are made based on similarity to known pathotypes and DNA-based genomic subtyping for risk.

Extract Class Refactoring Based on Cohesion and Coupling: A Greedy Approach

open access: yesComputers, 2022
A large class with many responsibilities is a design flaw that commonly occurs in real-world object-oriented systems during their lifespan. Such a class tends to be more difficult to comprehend, test, and change.

The multiple roles of the NlpC_P60 peptidase family in mycobacteria – an underexplored target for antimicrobial drug discovery

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The NlpC_P60 superfamily of peptidases is recognised by its key role in bacterial cell wall homeostasis. Recently, studies have also described the involvement of NlpC_P60‐like enzymes in bacterial competitive mechanisms and pathogenesis across several lineages.

The solution supramolecular structure of α2 → 8 polysialic acid suggests a structural cause for its low immunogenicity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
α2 → 8 polysialic acid elicits poor immunogenicity. Small‐angle scattering shows a supramolecular structure with parallel‐chain binding, although in different forms at μm and mm calcium. The major histocompatibility complex requires molecular weights around 2000 Da to produce antibodies, and 2000 Da polysialic oligomers will bind in these structures ...
