On deterministic chaos in software reliability growth models

Applied Soft Computing, 2016
We extract Two new SRGM datasets, the largest in the literature. We find fractal state-space attractors in 3 of our 4 datasets.RBFN and fractional ARIMA models forecast those 3 datasets equally well. Software reliability growth models attempt to forecast the future reliability of a software system, based on observations of the historical occurrences of ...

Experimental evaluation of software reliability growth models

[1988] The Eighteenth International Symposium on Fault-Tolerant Computing. Digest of Papers, 2003
An experimental evaluation is presented of SRGMs (software reliability growth models). The experimental data sets were collected from compiler construction projects completed by five university students. The SRGMs studied are the exponential model, the hyperexponential model, and S-shaped models. It is shown that the S-shaped models are superior to the

A Novel Framework of Software Reliability Evaluation with Software Reliability Growth Models and Software Metrics

2014 IEEE 15th International Symposium on High-Assurance Systems Engineering, 2014
This paper proposes a novel framework of software reliability growth models with software metrics. Our approach is to integrate a classical Poisson-regression-based fault prediction with non-homogeneous Poisson process based software reliability growth models. The remarkable feature of this approach is to handle time series data of fault detections and

A flexible modelling approach for software reliability growth

2005
In this paper, we present a model for software reliability which is flexible enough to describe a variety of reliability trends. Flexibility is achieved by allowing a variable Fault Exposure Coefficient (with linear dependence on the number of remaining faults).

NHPP Software Reliability Growth Models

2021
This chapter discusses reliability models for the software failure phenomenon based on a non-homogeneous Poisson process (NHPP). Few among the many existing models based on NHPP are discussed, also numerical examples are included to illustrate the results.

Study on software reliability growth model

2009 Asia-Pacific Conference on Computational Intelligence and Industrial Applications (PACIIA), 2009
The reliability growth models for software were studied. The MLE of the parameters for the exponential reliability growth model were given. The result shows that the Exponential model is useful for the data containing small samples. The model and the estimation method were applied to a data set.
