Caveat: a tool for software validation

Proceedings International Conference on Dependable Systems and Networks, 2003
Caveat is a static analysis tool designed to help verify safety critical software. It operates on ANSI C programs. It was developed by CEA, the French nuclear agency and is used as an operational tool by Airbus-France and EdF, the French electricity company. It is mainly based on Hoare Logic and rewriting of first order logic predicates.

The software tools project

Software: Practice and Experience, 1978
AbstractA project is described in which the software tools of Kernighan and Plauger1 are implemented on a Burroughs B1700 computer under a non‐standard operating system. A command language interpreter similar to that of the UNIX operating system has also been implemented to provide an environment in which the tools may be used.

Sandbridge Software Tools

2005
We describe the generation of the simulation environment for the Sandbridge Sandblaster multithreaded processor. The processor model is described using the Sandblaster architecture Description Language (SaDL), which is implemented as python objects. Specific processor implementations of the simulation environment are generated by calling the python ...

Software tools for networking

IEEE Network, 2004
Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) threaten mens reproductive health but they are preventable. When the means to prevent STDs are unknown unavailable unused or fail STDs can threaten the health and fertility of both men and their sex partners. Other threats such as environmental toxins which may affect mens offspring or reduce sperm count and ...

Software Tool Issues

2010
This chapter relies on experience with tool development gained over the last thirty years. It shows that there are a large number of techniques that contribute to any successful project, and that formality is always the key: a modern software test tool is based on a firm mathematical foundation. After a brief introduction, Section 2 recalls and extends

The Software Tools

1979
From the start of the MU5 project it was clear that the productivity of the software group would be a critical factor, and a lot of emphasis was placed on the provision of software tools. The project aim of designing the hardware to fit the software requirements meant that the software design had to run ahead of the hardware design.

Software tools for safety-critical software development

International Journal on Software Tools for Technology Transfer, 2005
We briefly present a software methodology for safety-critical software, developed over many years to cope with industrial safety-critical applications in the Canadian nuclear industry. Following this we present discussion on software tools that have been used to support this methodology, and software tools that could be used, but have not been used for

Verification Tool of Software Requirement for Network Software

2011
A model checking tool OWLSVerifyTool is proposed, designed and developed to verify Web service composition model of software requirement in this paper. It can convert OWL-S documents into Petri nets document described in PNML, then analysis and verify it with Petri nets with engine in dynamic context.

A prototyping tool for graphical software engineering tools

ACM SIGSOFT Software Engineering Notes, 1987
The paper introduces (1) a meta system, ERA Meta-Graph System, to define graphical modeling formalisms and to prototype their rule-based graphical editors, and (2) an example usage of the system to prototype some rule-based diagram editors for software designing process.
