Farmers' Preferences for Gene Editing Crops and Influencing Factors
ABSTRACT Gene editing (GE) is gaining momentum worldwide, but limited data on UK farmers' preferences hinders our understanding of its potential impact amid deregulation debates. Based on a survey of 200 English arable farmers, we employ a Latent Class Analysis and Multinomial Logit regressions to investigate current preferences for GE crops.

ABSTRACT Native plants offer a variety of aesthetic (e.g., fall colour, fruit, flowers) and functional benefits (e.g., pollinator friendly, wildlife friendly, water management). How these benefits influence consumer choice and perceived value of native versus introduced plants is not well understood.

Subsoil compaction on agricultural land by heavy construction machinery : soil physical aspects [PDF]
Heavy equipment used for the construction of long distance gas pipelines may cause severe and persistent subsoil compaction of arable land. In this project, the effects of compaction on the flow paths of water in the soil were studied. Water stained by a

Abstract Premise Desert plant assemblages in southern California provide an opportunity to link patterns of community structure with climate‐driven vulnerability in a rapidly changing environment. California sustains an exceptionally diverse flora of approximately 4300 plant species, with 31% identified as endemic.

Mechanical properties of tree roots for soil reinforcement models [PDF]
Evidence from forestry has shown that part of the forest floor bearing capacity is delivered by tree roots. The beneficial effect however varies and diminishes with increasing number of vehicle passes. Roots potential for reinforcing the soil is known to
