Modelling compacted soils

open access: yes, 2011
Mechanical and hydraulic compacted soil properties for a given soil mineralogy are essentially controlled by the attained dry density, water content and microstructure. Basic compaction conditions (wet or dry of optimum, higher or lower energy of compaction) result in changes in microstructure.

Impact of Cattaneo–Christov Heat and Mass Flux on MHD Hybrid Nanofluid Flow Over an Extending Surface With Convective and Mass Flux Effects

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigates the flow of a magnetized hybrid nanofluid over a permeable stretching surface. The mass and thermal transport within the system is regulated using the Cattaneo–Christov flux theory. The fluid is additionally subjected to thermophoresis, chemical reaction, Brownian motion, and activation energy effects.

Soil compaction loosener

open access: yes, 2018
A relationship between tire sinkage depth and compaction depth was developed from the literature describing previous research. Laboratory and field experiments were conducted to verify that relationship. For the laboratory experiment a universal testing machine was used with the aid of dimensional analysis and modeling theory to physically simulate ...

Compact Tubular Dielectric Elastomer Pump for Indoor Plants

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
This study develops a mountable rolled dielectric elastomer pump (MRDEP) using silicone films and MWCNT‐based electrodes. The MRDEP is completely soft, silent in operation, and easily mounted on a piping system. We use dry stacking methods, fabricate a multilayer dielectric elastomer actuator (DEA), and a pre‐straining process in one direction before ...

From Agri‐Waste to Heavy‐Duty Packaging: Upcycling Tomato Processing By‐Products Into Sustainable Bio‐Composite Polymeric Films

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
From tomato sauce waste to sustainable packaging: tomato processing by‐products are upcycled as fillers in biodegradable polymers and processed through blown film extrusion to fabricate heavy‐duty bags, enabling a circular and value‐added use of agri‐food residues.
