ENERGY BALANCE IN AREAS WITH DIFFERENT LAND USES IN THE CHAPADA DO ARARIPE

open access: yesRevista Geama, 2017
The objective of this work was to assess the energy balance components such as net radiation and sensible, latent and soil heat fluxes by using the Surface Energy Balance Algorithm – SEBAL – through analyses of 13 Landsat 5-TM and Landsat 8-OLI images ...

A Worm‐Inspired Origami Robot with Multimodal Locomotion for Adaptive Mobility in Complex Pipeline Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An origami worm‐inspired robot achieves multimodal locomotion in confined pipelines through mechatronic integration that embeds actuation, control, and communication within each origami module. Large, reversible configuration and dimensional changes enable 25 gaits synthesized by a unified framework across peristaltic, inchworm, and wheel‐rolling modes

Sub-soil temperature variation and estimation of soil heat flux at Pune

open access: yesMAUSAM, 1991
Utilising experimental data from 23 November to 8.December 1989. temperature and heat storage variations at Pune have been studied, based on 3 hourly observations.. pattern of penetration of .thermal wave within the soil has been examined and time of occurrence of maximum/minimum temperatures discussed for various depths.

Histone Modification Complex JMJ704‐HDA709 Negatively Regulates Salinity Tolerance in Rice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the rice histone demethylase JMJ704 interacts with HDA709―a H3K9ac deacetylase characterized herein―to form a chromatin‐modifying complex. Under salt stress, OsWRKY72 recruits this complex through interaction with JMJ704 to target loci, repressing the expression of oxidative stress and salt‐responsive genes via removal of ...

Impact of Soil Heat Flux on Water Use of Quinoa [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of Agricultural Science, Moshtohor, 2019
A field study was conducted in the winter season of 2017 at the Agricultural Experimental Station of Wadi Suder, south Sinai (D.R.C.), to evaluate the effect of soil organic matter and  applied irrigation water on soil thermal conductivity, soil heat flux consequently on soil evaporation , actual water evapotranspiration (ETa) and water use efficiency (

A Disaggregation Strategy for Nanopesticide Fabrication: Investigating the Impact of Nanosizing on Pesticide Biointeractions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
To explore the impact of nanosizing on pesticide biointeractions, a 7‐nm (average) emamectin benzoate nanopesticide without nanocarriers or surfactants is fabricated via HOAc‐mediated disaggregation. Nanosizing enhances bioactivity against Megalurothrips usitatus and Meloidogyne enterolobii and improves plant penetration.

A New Approach to Estimating the Sensible Heat Flux in Bare Soils

open access: yesAtmosphere
The estimation of sensible heat flux (H) in drylands is important because it constitutes a significant portion of the net available surface energy. A model to estimate H half-hourly measurements for bare soils was derived by combining the surface renewal (SR) theory and the Monin–Obukhov similarity theory (MOST), involving the land surface temperature (

Multi‐Stimuli‐Responsive Hydrogen‐Bonded Organic Frameworks Nanocarriers Enable Targeted Fungicide Release and Plant Immune Regulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A fluorinated hydrogen‐bonded organic framework nanocarrier (PFC‐1‐F) loaded with PYR and coated with HACC enables multi‐stimuli‐responsive (enzyme/ROS/pH) release at infection sites. Exhibiting targeted antifungal activity against Sclerotium rolfsii, modulating plant antioxidant defense, and demonstrating favorable biosafety across plant, soil, and ...

Ensemble machine learning for interpretable soil heat flux estimation

open access: yesEcological Informatics
Soil heat flux (SHF) is a key component of the surface energy balance and a driver of soil physiochemical and biological processes. Despite its importance accurate estimation of soil heat flux is hindered due to variations in soil composition, overlying vegetation density and phenology, and highly variable environmental forcings.

Molecular Engineering Mediated Interfacial Assembly as an Artificial Extracellular Matrix Remolds Bacteria With Enhanced Abiotic Resilience

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A biomimetic artificial extracellular matrix is assembled directly on Pseudomonas fluorescens by co‐assembling amyloid‐like lysozyme and alginate at the cell surface. This conformal nanocoating acts as both a hydration buffer and a physiological priming layer, markedly enhancing desiccation tolerance, seed adhesion, storage stability, and biocontrol ...
