Infiltration into crusted soils
Water Resources Research, 1998Quasi‐analytic methods are used to analyze ponded infiltration into crusted soils. The flux‐concentration method provides accurate bridging between exact small‐time similarity and large‐time traveling wave solutions. Various studies have used one or more of the following simplifications: neglect of gravity, replacing the crust with an hydraulic ...

Water Infiltration into Stratified Soil
Soil Science Society of America Journal, 1962Abstract A laboratory investigation was made of the effects of textural and structural stratification within the profile on rate of water infiltration into soil. A recording infiltrometer was devised and a method developed for obtaining uniformly packed tubes of soil.

Rainfall infiltration into bare soils
Water Resources Research, 1977Raindrop impact destroys the surface aggregates of soils and gradually forms a continuous crust. Infiltration rates of bare soils are determined by this process. A theoretical model presented previously was tested under field conditions with a sandy loam soil.

Water infiltration in a cracked soil considering effect of drying-wetting cycles
, 2020Infiltration is of great concern in many fields like hydrology, agriculture as well as geotechnical and geological engineering. This study aims to investigate water infiltration in a cracked soil.

Infiltration into a nonsaturated soil
Hydrotechnical Construction, 19721. The basic content of most of the papers is related to the wetting of a soil by rainfall, with the exception of the paper presented by S. V. Izbash and I S. Ronzhin (USSR), which deals with the operation of hydraulic structures. 2. From the theoretical viewpoint the most interesting papers were those by N. I. Druzhinin and S. V. Nerpin

Soil Sealing, Infiltration and Runoff
1996Arid zones are characterized by vast areas of bare soils, low annual precipitation, but high rainfall intensities with high kinetic energy. Desertification of less arid regions may also be a result of overgrazing and exploitation of vegetation beyond the land’s productive potential.

Shallow slope stability evolution during rainwater infiltration considering soil cracking state
, 2020Cracks in a shallow slope will increase soil infiltration capacity and sequentially affect slope stability. To further understand the evolutionary characteristics of shallow slope stability caused by rainwater infiltration considering desiccation crack ...
