Evaluating harvest aids for soybean desiccation, yield, and seed quality in the northern United States

open access: yesAgronomy Journal, Volume 118, Issue 2, March/April 2026.
Abstract Application of harvest aids to desiccate soybean [Glycine Max (L.) Merr.] is one method proposed to limit harvest delays from variable fall weather patterns in the northern United States. Field research was conducted over 4 site‐years in Michigan to evaluate the effect of two preharvest desiccation timings (early, label) of the harvest aids ...

Key management practices driving soybean yield variability in lowland fields of southern Brazil

open access: yesAgronomy Journal, Volume 118, Issue 2, March/April 2026.
Abstract Soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] production in the lowlands of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, covers more than 50% of the area traditionally cropped with irrigated rice. However, soybean yields in lowland fields average 3.0 Mg ha−1, which is well below the potential yield (6.2 Mg ha−1) estimated for highland areas.

Sudden Shift From Drought to Flood May Be Infrequent in Debris‐Flow Events in Southwest China: Evidence From Antecedent Hydrometeorological Fingerprints

open access: yesAtmospheric Science Letters, Volume 27, Issue 3, March 2026.
Using reanalysis meteorological data and remotely‐sensed soil moisture, we examined antecedent hydrometeorological fingerprints of debris flows in Southwest China (2008–2018). Results show that about 80% of events occurred after anomalously high temperatures, while soils were predominantly wet (96.6%).
