Swedish Consumers' Willingness‐to‐Pay for Plant‐Based Proteins in Pasta Sauce: Preferences and Policy Scenarios

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper explores Swedish consumers' protein preferences by estimating the willingness‐to‐pay (WTP) for minced meat and plant‐based proteins in pasta sauce from an in‐store experiment (n = 206) and an online discrete choice experiment (n = 517). On average, the WTP was highest for minced meat.

Alternative Policy Designs to Help Farmers Select Profitable Conservation Practices

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Voluntary private carbon initiatives (VPCIs) promote the implementation of agricultural conservation practices that mitigate emissions of greenhouse gases (GHGs) via financial incentives to participating farmers. Simultaneously, an array of public policies supports the adoption of conservation practices through technical and financial ...

Effect of differentiated fertilization on the content of soil organic carbon in the conditions of long-term fertilization experiment

open access: yesAgronomy Science, 2004
On the basis of two long-term fertilization experiments performed on the SGGW experimental field at Łyczyn, the effect of particular fertilizer components (N, P, K, Ca) and manure as well as the application of the increasing doses of mineral fertilizers (

Cost‐Benefit Analysis of the European Union Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism in Fertilizer Trade

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The carbon border adjustment mechanism (CBAM), launching 2026, will charge EU importers for embedded carbon emissions, aiming to reduce emissions but raising import costs. Shifts in demand following implementation may reduce carbon emissions, but importers will bear the cost of increased prices.

Scale‐up of Streptomyces species cultivations based on the morphological response to the energy dissipation rate

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Filamentous microorganisms exhibit complex morphologies that influence product formation and are affected by various bioprocess parameters. Consistent morphology is therefore essential for comparable results during scale‐up. This study investigates the scale‐up of Streptomyces species (Streptomyces spp.) cultivations from shake flasks to ...

Maximizing soil organic carbon stocks through optimal ploughing and renewal strategies in (Ley) grassland

open access: yesCommunications Earth & Environment
Grassland management effects on soil organic carbon storage under future climate are unknown. Here we examine the impact of ley grassland durations in crop rotations on soil organic carbon in temperate climate from 2005 to 2100, considering two IPCC ...

Measurable soil organic carbon fractions for modeling soil carbon sequestration

open access: yes, 2007
The objective of this research was to isolate biologically meaningful and measurable soil organic matter (SOM) fractions related to the organic carbon (C) pools described in the Century SOM model. This was achieved by measuring the changes of isolated C fractions during a six-month incubation study of three different soils, varying in clay content ...

A Review on Magnesium Based Metal Hydrides for Thermal Energy Storage Systems

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The hydrogen storage in metal hydrides is an imminent, innovative, and environmentally beneficial approach that offers benefits for example, an ample amount of storage and elasticity in terms of thermodynamics necessary for hydrogen absorption and release.
