Fully Additive Vertical Organic Electrochemical Transistors on Renewable and Compostable Substrates Enable Ultrasensitive Bioelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Fully additive vertical organic electrochemical transistors (vOECTs) with channel‐length of 226 nm on a 50 µm compostable substrate achieve >106 current modulation and ∼36 mS transconductance. Ion‐selective integration enables 1.1 mA dec−1 sensitivity and 36 µm detection limit, highlighting a scalable platform for sustainable electronics and ...

Limiting physical properties of Technosols formed by the Fundão dam failure, Minas Gerais, Brazil [PDF]

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Ciência do Solo
Physical properties of the Technosols formed by the tailings deposition may constitute a physical barrier that limits water movement and plant development due to the properties received from those sediments.

Quantification of the least limiting water range in an oxisol using two methodological strategies [PDF]

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Ciência do Solo, 2014
The least limiting water range (LLWR) has been used as an indicator of soil physical quality as it represents, in a single parameter, the soil physical properties directly linked to plant growth, with the exception of temperature. The usual procedure for

Use of penetrometers in agriculture: a review [PDF]

open access: yesEngenharia Agrícola, 2014
Soil physical quality can be easily and quickly evaluated by using simple equipment to identify levels of soil compaction. Hence, it is necessary to know the variables responsible for changes in the soil penetration resistance (SPR).

Disorder‐Broadened Topological Hall Phase and Anomalous Hall Scaling in FeGe

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
By systematically introducing defects into FeGe via ion‐beam modification, we demonstrate that disorder broadens the temperature regime over which the topological Hall effect ‐ a signature of skyrmions or other chiral textures — appears, while also increasing its magnitude.

Effects of Compost Use on Soil Physical Quality of Vertosols

open access: yesSoil Systems
Compost is widely used to improve soil fertility and structure, yet its effects on soil physical properties in Vertosols remain insufficiently documented. This study evaluated the effects of repeat compost application on soil carbon and nitrogen contents and selected soil physical properties in Vertosols from three farms in Queensland, Australia (Roma,

Soil Physical Quality and Soybean Yield as Affected by Chiseling and Subsoiling of a No-Till Soil

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Ciência do Solo, 2016
The concept of soil physical quality (SPQ) is currently under discussion, and an agreement about which soil physical properties should be included in the SPQ characterization has not been reached. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the ability of SPQ indicators based on static and dynamic soil properties to assess the effects of two loosening
