Post‐Fire Soil Organic Carbon Dynamics: Decline and Recovery Over Two Decades
ABSTRACT Wildfire can significantly alter soil organic carbon (SOC) dynamics in forest ecosystems, with complex temporal patterns following fire events. However, research on post‐fire SOC recovery remains limited, particularly in dry‐warm valley regions that are prone to frequent forest fires.

In-Soil Potassium Sensor System
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2004A potentiometric sensor system based on potassium ion-selective electrodes was developed for agricultural purposes. Sensors were built using PVC ion-selective membranes over an inner solid contact prepared with graphite-epoxy composites. A copper plate was used as a reference electrode.

Summary The immediate Q/I relation of K in a soil relates the amount of labile K present to its chemical potential, measured relative to the chemical potential of (Ca+Mg) in the same soil.

Potassium (K) is a macronutrient required by plants in larger amounts such as nitrogen, however, different from all macronutrients because of its specific retention in the soils. It is a structural part of most of the soil minerals and its availability to plants is not directly proportional to the total amount of K in the soils.
