Los suelos, una nueva frontera para el conocimiento y las políticas ambientales

open access: yesRevue d'anthropologie des connaissances, 2020
Despite its vital importance for ecosystems and societies, soil largely remains understood as an inert base, a backdrop for the biological and social life that exists at its surface. This special issue looks at the dynamics of production, circulation and

3D Concrete Printing of Triply Periodic Minimum Surfaces for Enhanced Carbon Capture and Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D‐printable and carbon‐capturing concrete is developed by replacing cement with diatomaceous earth (DE), which enhances rheology, provides hierarchical porosity, and serves as a nucleation site for carbonation. Maximum absorption of 488.7 gCO2 kgcement−1 is achieved in 7 days, a 142% increase over conventional concrete, and the triply periodic ...

Multiple additive regression trees as a tool for estimating soil properties. Principles and applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Pedotransfer functions (PTFs) are used to estimate soil properties that are difficult and costly to measure, from others properties that are available. MART, namely Multiple Additive Regression Trees belongs to the boosted regression trees (BRT) family ...

Alginate‐Sludge Derived Biochar‐Calcium Hydrogel for Phosphate Removal and Slow‐Release Fertilizer: A Sustainable and Multifunctional Solution

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An alginate‐based biochar hydrogel (ABC‐hydrogel), derived from sewage sludge, is developed for simultaneous phosphate removal and agricultural reuse. It captures phosphorus from water and gradually releases it as fertilizer, enhancing lettuce growth.
