Comparative Study of Nanobioactive Glass Quaternary System 46S6
International audienceDifferent bioactive glass systems have been prepared by sol-gel. However, the production of Na2O-containing bioactive glasses by sol-gel methods has proved to be difficult as the sodium nitrate used in the preparation could be lost ...

Liquid Metals as Initiators of Free‐Radical Polymerization of Hydrogels: A Perspective
Gallium‐based liquid metals initiate free radical polymerization to form hydrogels without the use of toxic molecular initiators. In addition to initiating polymerization, they can act as crosslinkers, yielding softer, more extensible, and tougher hydrogels than those formed with conventional initiators.

Entrapment of glucoamylase by sol-gel technique in PhTES/TEOS hybrid matrixes [PDF]
Mesoporous silica particles were prepared by the sol-gel method from different alkoxysilane precursors and used as a host matrix for encapsulation of glucoamylase, an enzyme widely used in fermentative industry.

Epitaxial piezoelectric α‐quartz/Si BioNEMS sensors, made using soft chemistry, effectively detect the Chikungunya virus. They have a mass sensitivity of 205 pg Hz−1 in liquid and can detect the virus at a limit of 9 ng mL−1. This development enables high‐frequency mass devices for point‐of‐care testing in healthcare and other electronic applications ...

Fluctuations in Chemical Gelation
We study a chemical gelation model in two dimensions which includes both monomer aggregations and bond fluctuations. Our numerical simulation shows that a sol-gel transition occurs when an initial monomer concentration is above a critical concentration ...

Material for surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy, and SER sensors and method for preparing same [PDF]
Metal-doped sol-gel materials, suitable for use as sensors for surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopic analysis for trace chemical detection, are produced by effecting gelation and solvent removal of a doped sol-gel under mild temperature conditions.

An adapted processing for solvent‐free argyrodite solid electrolyte films based on insights into degradation mechanisms of the widely used binder polytetrafluoroethylene is presented. By adapting the dry film processing, long‐term cycling in Si||NMC pouch cells is demonstrated over more than 1000 cycles with a capacity retention of more than 80%, and ...

Lithium Ferrite as the Cathode of the Electrochemical Power Sources: the Perspectives of Sol-gel Synthesis Method [PDF]
Synthesis of highly dispersed systems of lithium-ferrite oxide spinel, obtained by the low-temperature sol-gel method, with the subsequent auto combustion and the comparison of these systems’ characteristics with the analogous ones of the conventional ...
