Extended Symbolic Dynamics in Bistable CML: Existence and Stability of Fronts
We consider a diffusive Coupled Map Lattice (CML) for which the local map is piece-wise affine and has two stable fixed points. By introducing a spatio-temporal coding, we prove the one-to-one correspondence between the set of global orbits and the set ...

Bioinspired Stabilization of Fluorescent Au@SiO2 Tracers for Multimodal Biological Imaging
This study demonstrates a bioinspired stabilization strategy for fluorescent gold‐silica nanoparticles. Inspired by natural biosilica maturation, high‐temperature calcination transforms the silica shells, preventing dissolution in cell culture media and intracellular environments.

Two-color nonlinear localized photonic modes
We analyze second-harmonic generation (SHG) at a thin effectively quadratic nonlinear interface between two linear optical media. We predict multistability of SHG for both plane and localized waves, and also describe two-color localized photonic modes ...

Nanoscale‐grooved indium gallium oxide (IGO) semiconductors, patterned via thermal nanoimprint lithography (NIL) using CD/DVD templates, are integrated into electrolyte‐gated transistor biosensors to overcome Debye length limitations. Precisely engineered concave–convex nanostructures modulate local electrostatic potentials, extend the effective Debye ...

Developing the Alumina Hybrid Sol-Gel Coating for Steel Oxidation Protection at High Temperatures [PDF]
The use of nano alumina thin film by hybrid sol-gel route to protect steel from high-temperature oxidation is limited due to the low thermal stability of this coat. In this work, study has been conducted to minimize this effect. The chemical compositions

Mean Field Theory of the Morphology Transition in Stochastic Diffusion Limited Growth
We propose a mean-field model for describing the averaged properties of a class of stochastic diffusion-limited growth systems. We then show that this model exhibits a morphology transition from a dense-branching structure with a convex envelope to a ...

Liquid‐phase transmission electron microscopy enables direct observation of nucleation and growth processes in solution. This review is dedicated to the remembrance of Helmut Cölfen and highlights recent studies on complex materials—oxides, biominerals, organic–inorganic crystals—which were central to his research activity. It summarizes key milestones,
