Multi‐Layer Countercurrent Chromatographie (MLCCC) zur Anreicherung von Calcitriol‐Glykosiden aus Solanum glaucophyllum

Lebensmittelchemie

FeedingSolanum glaucophyllumto preparturient multiparous cows prevents postparturient hypocalcemia

Animal Science Journal, 2015
AbstractSolanum glaucophyllum(SG) contains 1,25‐dihydroxyvitaminD3(1,25‐(OH)2D3) glycosides. We investigated the effect ofSGon hypocalcemia in cows. Serum levels of 1,25‐(OH)2D3, total calcium and phosphorus dose‐relatedly increased after feeding withSG, while serum magnesium and chloride levels fell (P < 0.05).

Glycoconjugate histochemistry in the small and large intestine of normal and Solanum glaucophyllum-intoxicated rabbits

open access: yesResearch in Veterinary Science, 2010
Vitamin D participates in mineral homeostasis, immunomodulation, cell growth and differentiation. The leaves of Solanum glaucophyllum contain high levels of 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 as glycoside derivatives and their chronic ingestion generates a hypervitaminosis D-like state.

The Antirachitic Activity of Solanum glaucophyllum Leaves

Planta Medica, 1980
Solanum glaucophyllum leaves, collected from stands growing in tropical and subtropical areas, have been assayed for their antirachitic activity. The equivalent to 24 - 120 micrograms of cholecalciferol per gram of dry leaves has been measured the rachitic chick bioassay.
