Deciphering the “Missing Xenon Paradox” in Celestial Bodies: A Multifaceted Perspective Toward Demystifying This Enigma

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 131, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract Xenon (Xe) is a heavy noble gas with intriguing chemical properties, such as having several stable isotopes and the ability to form compounds under extreme conditions. Despite the predictions based on cosmochemical models that suggest xenon should be relatively abundant in planetary reservoirs, empirical data indicate a significant depletion ...

Transverse Oscillations and Kelvin–Helmholtz Instability in Curved Arcade Loops with Siphon Flows

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The effect of plasma flow in curved arcade loops on transverse waves and oscillations is examined analytically. The model under study is a semicircular magnetic slab with finite transverse extensions and a mass flow inside, in the zero- β plasma ...

Vlasov-Maxwell equilibria of solar coronal loops [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 1991
A Vlasov-Maxwell description of the ubiquitous solar coronal structures is presented. It is found that an equilibrium plasma configuration can live with spatial gradients in density, temperature, current and drift speeds of the charged particles. Any stability study must be carried over this inhomogeneous equilibrium state.

Human‐Interpretable SEP Event Prediction Using White‐Box Explainable AI

open access: yesSpace Weather, Volume 24, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract Solar energetic particle (SEP) events pose radiation risks to astronauts and space systems, making their prediction essential. Although various prediction models have been developed, most machine learning (ML)‐based models lack interpretability; that is, it is difficult to explain the reasons behind individual predictions.

Coexistence of Decaying and Decayless Kink Oscillations in a Bundle of Coronal Loops Triggered by an X6.3 Solar Flare

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
We report the coexistence of decaying and decayless kink oscillations within a single bundle of coronal loops during the X6.3-class solar flare on 2024 February 22.

Alfvénic Motions Arising from Asymmetric Acoustic Wave Drivers in Solar Magnetic Structures

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
Alfvénic motions are ubiquitous in the solar atmosphere and their observed properties are closely linked to those of photospheric p-modes. However, it is still unclear how a predominantly acoustic wave driver can produce these transverse oscillations in ...

Particle acceleration and transport in reconnecting twisted loops in a stratified atmosphere

open access: yes, 2014
Twisted coronal loops should be ubiquitous in the solar corona. Twisted magnetic fields contain excess magnetic energy, which can be released during magnetic reconnection, causing solar flares. The aim of this work is to investigate magnetic reconnection,

Unraveling Super Equatorial Plasma Bubbles (EPBs) Evolution During the 23 April 2023 Storm: Multi‐Instrument Observations and GITM‐SAMI3 Simulation

open access: yesSpace Weather, Volume 24, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract Storm‐time equatorial plasma bubble (EPB) dynamics play a critical role in space weather impacts on communication and navigation systems, yet the mechanisms governing their formation and evolution under storm conditions remain poorly understood.

Identification of Nonlinear Damping of Transverse Loop Oscillations by KHI-induced Turbulence

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Kink oscillations in coronal loops have been extensively studied for their potential contributions to coronal heating and their role in plasma diagnostics through coronal seismology. A key focus is the strong damping of large-amplitude kink oscillations,

Behavior of Magnetohydrodynamic Waves in the Viscous Coronal Loops [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Astronomy and Astrophysics
Studying the dynamics of magnetic plasmas in the presence of pressure gradients, gravity, and Lorentz forces is essential for understanding wave generation and propagation in the solar atmosphere and other magnetic environments.
