Modeling of the Extreme‐Ultraviolet and Soft X‐Ray Emission in a Solar Coronal Bright Point

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2008
Previous studies have been able to reproduce both the observed intensities and the morphology of high-temperature solar plasma using steady state heating models. These models, however, have been unable to reproduce the lower temperature emission observed in active regions. Here we present results from numerical simulations of a coronal bright point. We

An investigation of Fe XVI emission lines in solar and stellar extreme-ultraviolet and soft X-ray spectra [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 2007
New fully relativistic calculations of radiative rates and electron impact excitation cross-sections for Fe XVΙ are used to determine theoretical emission-line ratios applicable to the 251-361 and 32-77 A portions of the extreme-ultraviolet (EUV) and soft X-ray spectral regions, respectively.

Study of Free‐Space Optical Quantum Network: Review and Prospectives

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Free from the constraints of fiber connections, free‐space quantum network enables longer and more flexible quantum network connections. This review summarizes and comparatively analyzes free‐space quantum network experiments based on ground stations, satellites, and mobile platforms.

Hydrogen (H2) Recovery From Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S): Current Technologies, Challenges, and Future Outlook

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) can be transformed into hydrogen (H2) through several chemical and catalytic processes, offering a promising route for both waste treatment and clean H2 production. This colorless, flammable, and toxic gas is found abundantly in swamps, volcanoes, hot springs, sewages, other natural gas fields, and even in refineries and

Highly Efficient and Environmentally Stable Radiative Cooling Fabric: Integrating Photoluminescence and Hierarchical Core–Shell Fibers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A scalable radiative cooling fabric engineered with a multi‐layer assembly core–shell structure and integrated photoluminescent materials is reported. The fabric exhibits remarkable environmental stability, including UV resistance, mechanical durability, hydrophobicity, stain resistance, thermal stability, and flame retardancy, demonstrating its ...

Bionic Solar‐Powered Heavy Metal Trap for Eco‐Friendly Sludge Drying and Simultaneous Electricity Generation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Herein, we propose a solar‐powered heavy metal trap (SPHT) for sludge disposal. The indoor experiments demonstrated that the sludge water content decreased from 90 % to 31 %, coupled with a decrease in heavy metal content to 6 % at most. Furthermore, the designed SPHT generated an initial potential of 0.10 V, and monitoring this hydrovoltaic potential ...

Extreme ultraviolet emission lines of Ni xii in laboratory and solar spectra [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
A linear force-free field solution is presented in cylindrical coordinates, formulated in terms of trigonometric and Bessel functions. A numerical exploration has revealed that this solution describes magnetic field lines that meander in Cartesian space, as well as field lines that lie on toroidal flux surfaces.

Solar Observations of High‐Temperature Emission with the Extreme‐Ultraviolet Imaging Spectrometer onHinode

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2008
We present an analysis of solar coronal emission lines formed above 2.5 MK observed with the Extreme-Ultraviolet Imaging Spectrometer on Hinode during a small flare. Our main purpose is to evaluate the internal consistency of the atomic data available for the observed emission.

Flexoelectricity in Photoconversion: Fundamentals, Materials, and Outlooks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mechanical bending of a flexible cantilever induces a strain gradient in the photoactive material. The resulting flexoelectric field couples with photovoltaic and photoconductive effects, modulating charge generation, separation, and collection. A comparative analysis of oxide perovskites, halide perovskites, and two‐dimensional materials is presented,
