Embracing the politics of transformation: Policy action as “battle‐settlement events”

open access: yesReview of Policy Research, Volume 43, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract Societal transformations for addressing climate change are intensely contested and at risk of resistance and backlash to ambitious policy action. But they are frequently modeled through heuristics such as S‐curves which abstract from such conflicts, assuming increasing returns to scale as a driver of transformations.

Super active regions and production of major solar flares [PDF]

open access: yes
The success of imaging detectors with small fields of veiw such as HXIS or P/OF (Pinhole/Occulter Facility) depends heavily on pointing to the right place at the right time.

Comparative Analysis of Type III Radio Bursts and Solar Flares: Spatial Localization and Correlation with Solar Flare Intensity

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present a comprehensive study of type III radio bursts and their association with solar flares of magnitude M1.0 and larger, as observed by four widely separated spacecraft (Parker Solar Probe, Solar Orbiter, STEREO-A, and Wind). Our main focus is the

The flaring and quiescent components of the solar corona

open access: yes, 2008
The solar corona is a template to understand stellar activity. The Sun is a moderately active star, and its corona differs from active stars: active stellar coronae have a double-peaked EM(T) with the hot peak at 8-20 MK, while the non flaring solar ...

A Joint Microwave and Hard X-Ray Study toward Understanding the Transport of Accelerated Electrons During an Eruptive Solar Flare

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The standard flare model, despite its success, is limited in comprehensively explaining the various processes involving nonthermal particles. One such missing ingredient is a detailed understanding of the various processes involved during the transport ...
