Niobium nitride (NbN) broadband plasmonic metasurface absorbers provide an efficient platform for solar‐energy conversion through hot‐carrier injection. Quasi‐epitaxial NbN features a low work function of 4.0 eV, reducing the interfacial injection barrier and facilitating charge transfer into adjacent photocatalysts.

In this work, we constructed an ultrathin two‐dimensional (2D) In2O3 nanosheet (In2O3‐Ns) structure based on oxygen vacancies (OV)‐rich defects and low crystallinity to anchor Cu single atoms (Cu SAs) and synthesized Cu/In2O3‐Ns photocatalysts. ABSTRACT In this work, we constructed an ultrathin two‐dimensional (2D) In2O3 nanosheet (In2O3‐Ns) structure ...

Closing Kok’s cycle of nature’s water oxidation catalysis
The Mn4CaO5(6) cluster in photosystem II catalyzes water splitting through the S i state cycle (i = 0–4). Molecular O2 is formed and the natural catalyst is reset during the final S3 → (S4) → S0 transition.
