Holistic and Lightweight Approach for Solar Irradiance Forecasting

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing
The introduction of solar power in energy grids is crucial for sustainable progress, but gets restricted due to frequently fluctuating electricity outputs generated by intermittent solar irradiance. The problem requires proper power planning and operations management that requires accurate and reliable solar irradiance forecasts.

Photocatalytic Water Splitting on the Lunar Surface: Prospects for In Situ Resource Utilization

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Water has been found in craters on the moon nearby locations which are illuminated >80% of the time. Photocatalysis uses energy from sunlight to drive chemical reactions such as water splitting to produce oxygen and hydrogen. It is a scalable technology that requires lighter equipment and utilizes resources available on the moon. ABSTRACT The discovery

Hydrophobic 1D and 3D Anodic Alumina Radiative Coolers on Aluminum: Humidity‐Resilient Daytime Sub‐Ambient Cooling

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
1D and 3D nanoporous anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) surfaces were functionalized with stearic acid (STA) to increase hydrophobicity and reduce the influence of humidity on radiative cooling performance. The STA coating improves cooling behavior under humid atmospheric conditions (Madrid summer), before while keeping the optical properties required for ...

Cyclodextrin‐Functionalized Light‐Driven Cu2O Micromotors for Simultaneous Capture and Degradation of Bisphenol A

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Fuel‐free Cu2O‐based micromotors functionalized with β‐cyclodextrin actively remove bisphenol A from water under visible light. The cyclodextrin shell captures BPA and enhances micromotor motility, leading to faster degradation and higher overall removal than nonfunctionalized Cu2O and Cu2O@Au.
