The Role of Meridional Flow in the Generation of Solar/Stellar Magnetic Fields and Cycles

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Meridional flow is crucial in generating the solar poloidal magnetic field by facilitating poleward transport of the field from decayed bipolar magnetic regions (BMRs).

TeV Solar Gamma Rays as a probe for the Solar Internetwork Magnetic Fields [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
The magnetic fields that emerge from beneath the solar surface and permeate the solar atmosphere are the key drivers of space weather and, thus, understanding them is important to human society. Direct observations, used to measure magnetic fields, can only probe the magnetic fields in the photosphere and above, far from the regions the magnetic fields

Investigation of weak solar magnetic fields - New observational results for the SrI 460.7 nm linear polarization and radiative transfer modeling

open access: yes, 2001
Scattering polarization measurements were obtained with THEMIS in July 2000, close to the solar south Pole and to the east Equator and in a period of maximum solar activity.

On the origin of solar magnetic fields

open access: yes, 1979
Turbulent-dynamo theories of the solar cycle are criticized, and an alternative theory is proposed. The critique of dynamo theory focuses on attempts to justify the theory's basic physical and mathematical assumptions.

Self‐Organized Growth of Catalyst‐Free Single Crystal WnO3n‐2 (n = 25) Nanowire Bundles on Si (111) via Selective He+ Ion Irradiation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A novel and efficient method is explored to synthesize 1D single‐crystal sub‐stoichiometric WnO3n‐2 (n = 25) nanowire bundles. The approach utilizes selective low‐energy He+ ion irradiation (27 eV) on Mo‐Ni doped WOx surface, achieving efficient catalyst‐free self‐organized growth of high aspect ratio nanowires at the temperature of 700 °C.

Formation of Jet-driven Forced Reconnection Region and Associated Plasma Blobs in a Prominence Segment

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We use data from the Atmospheric Imaging Assembly on board the Solar Dynamics Observatory to study the most likely formation of a forced reconnection region and associated plasma blobs, triggered by jetlike structures in a prominence segment.
