Reconnection Mediated by Magnetic Fractures and the Solar Flare
AbstractReconnection of sheared magnetic fields is commonly treated by regarding the component perpendicular to the antiparallel components as a largely inert guide field. In this paper an alternative is proposed in which the free energy residing in the shear field is being converted prior to reconnection.

Magnetic Reconnection in Extreme Astrophysical Environments
Magnetic reconnection is a basic plasma process of dramatic rearrangement of magnetic topology, often leading to a violent release of magnetic energy. It is important in magnetic fusion and in space and solar physics --- areas that have so far provided ...

Turbulent General Magnetic Reconnection
Plasma flows with an MHD-like turbulent inertial range, such as the solar wind, require a generalization of General Magnetic Reconnection (GMR) theory. We introduce the slip-velocity source vector, which gives the rate of development of slip velocity per

Magnetic reconnection exhausts in the solar wind
The restructuring of magnetic fields in plasmas through the process of magnetic reconnection is important in laboratory experiments, magnetospheres and many astrophysical systems. In-situ observations of reconnection processes in the near-Earth environment provide an excellent opportunity to probe the physics of magnetic reconnection. In the solar wind,

Formation of Fan-spine Magnetic Topology through Flux Emergence and Subsequent Jet Production
Fan-spine magnetic structure, as a fundamental three-dimensional topology in magnetic reconnection theory, plays a crucial role in producing solar jets. However, how fan-spine configurations form in the solar atmosphere remains elusive. Using the Chinese
