Instabilities, Wave Emission, and Energy Transport along Bursty Bulk Flows and Supra-arcade Downflows: Differences, Similarities, and Effects on the Surrounding Regions

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We examine the stability conditions for two posteruptive phenomena in the solar–terrestrial environment, namely, bursty bulk flows (BBFs) in the Earth’s magnetotail and supra-arcade downflows (SADs) in the solar corona.

IS⊙IS Solar γ-Ray Measurements: Initial Observations and Calibrations

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
High-energy neutral solar radiation in the form of γ -rays and neutrons is produced as secondary products in solar flares. The characteristics of this emission can provide key information regarding the energization of charged particles, particularly when

3D Anodic Alumina Nanoarchitectures: A Decade of Progress from Foundational Science to Functional Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ordered three‐dimensional anodic aluminum oxide (3D‐AAO) nanoarchitectures with longitudinal and transverse pores enable architecture‐driven metamaterials. The review maps fabrication advances, including hybrid pulse anodization, and shows how 3D‐AAO templates tailor properties across magnetism, energy, catalysis, and sensing.

Tough, Ductile, and Strong Hard‐Soft Cementitious Composite Enabled by Multi‐Material Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Drawing inspiration from the layered hard‐soft architecture found in sea sponges, this work establishes a new framework for architected cementitious composites (ACC) through multi‐material additive manufacturing (MMAM) process. The integration of mortar and elastomer phases into layered architectures enables synergistic toughening mechanisms, including

Soft X-ray emissions, meter-wavelength radio bursts, and particle acceleration in solar flares

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 1988
A detailed study of the relationship between metric radio bursts and soft X-ray flares has been made using an extensive data set covering 15 yr. It is found that type IV emission is mainly associated with long-duration 1-8 A events that are known to be well associated with coronal mass ejections.

Energetic Offset in Organic Solar Cells‐ Importance, Confusion and Outlook

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Energetic offsets in organic solar cells (OSCs) remain a subject of debate due to measurement‐ and lab‐dependent discrepancies. This Perspective clarifies the physical origins of these variations and identifies temperature‐dependent electro‐optical methods as a reliable approach to obtain consistent offset values.

Solar wind-magnetosphere-ionosphere interactions in the earth's plasma environment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The properties of the Earth’s coupled magnetosphere-ionosphere system are dominated by its interaction with the solar wind plasma, mediated by magnetic reconnection processes at the magnetopause interface.
