Solar flares with and without SOHO/LASCO coronal mass ejections and type II shocks
We analyse of a set of radio rich (accompanied by type IV or II bursts) solar flares and their association with SOHO/LASCO Coronal Mass Ejections in the period 1998 2000. The intensity, impulsiveness and energetics of these events are investigated.

Abstract A demonstrated failure mode for operational solar flare forecasting is the inability to forecast flares that occur near, or just beyond, the solar limb. To address this shortcoming, we develop a “4π $4{\uppi }$” full‐heliosphere event forecasting framework and evaluate its statistical classification ability against this specific challenge.

The Geomagnetic Storm on 10–12 May 2024 and Its Effect on the Swedish Power Grid
Abstract On 10–12 May 2024, at least five interplanetary coronal mass ejections (ICMEs) arrived at Earth and caused the strongest geomagnetic storm in over 20 years. During this geomagnetic storm, a disturbance occurred in a transformer in southern Sweden, causing a drop in power supply in the power line connecting Sweden and Poland.

Millimeter Radio Evidence for Containment Mechanisms in Solar Flares [PDF]
Recent theories of solar flares are reviewed with emphasis on the aspects of pre-flare heating. The heating evident at 3.3-mm wavelength is analyzed in the form of daily maps of the solar disk and synoptic maps compiled from the daily maps.
