The Solar System: Sun and Planets

2014
The Universe is all the mass that exists, spanning from the largest galaxies to the tiny subatomic particle. Furthermore, as mass is exchangeable with energy, the Universe also encompasses all forces and energies that exist therein. Hence, the Universe is unlimited in time and shape and infinite in its variety of forms.

Infrared Spectroscopy of Solar-System Planets

Space Science Reviews, 2007
Most of our knowledge regarding planetary atmospheric composition and structure has been achieved by remote sensing spectroscopy. Planetary spectra strongly differ from one planet to another. CO2 signatures dominate on Mars, and even more on Venus (where the thermal component is detectable down to 1 μm on the dark side).

The Solar System: Observing the Planets

2013
The visibility of the planets change throughout their orbit and depends on a number of factors, including their position in their orbit in relation to the Sun and the Earth, as well as its location along the ecliptic.

Detection of Extra-Solar System Planets

1988
Stimulated by a proposal of Wm. Hayden Smith and co-workers to detect planets on nearby stars by high resolution imaging, we speculate on the appropriate data analysis method, making use of probability theory to perform the optimal deconvolution of the point-spread function.

Our Expanding Solar System: Planets and Moons

2014
Since prehistoric times, people have observed that some of the points of light in the sky moved differently from the others. The Classical Greeks called these entities “wandering stars”, and they were associated with various deities and came to take on astrological significance.
