High temperature solar receiver [PDF]

open access: yes
The development of a high temperature solar thermal receiver is described. A prototype receiver and associated test support (auxiliary) hardware was fabricated. Shakedown and initial performance tests of the prototype receiver were performed.

Thermal Processing Creates Water‐Stable PEDOT:PSS Films for Bioelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 37, Issue 13, April 2, 2025.
Instead of using chemical cross–linkers, it is shown that PEDOT:PSS thin films for bioelectronics become water‐stable after a simple heat treatment. The heat treatment is compatible with a range of rigid and elastomeric substrates and films are stable in vivo for >20 days.

Stepwise On‐Surface Synthesis and Transformations of Two‐Dimensional Covalent Organic Frameworks by Controlled Thermal Stimuli

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The seminal transformation of a 2D‐COF (SURFCOF‐IMDEA1) into a 2D porous COF (SURFCOF‐IMDEA2) on Au(111) by a sequential C‐C coupling and ladderization triggered by thermal annealing steps at increasing temperatures is reported. Abstract The development of covalent organic frameworks (COFs) is currently a primary objective in materials science, taking ...

High Light Utilization and Color Rendering in Vacuum‐Deposited Semitransparent Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, low bandgap (≈1.55 eV) semitransparent perovskite solar cells (ST‐PSCs) having thin (thickness < ≈100 nm) perovskite layers and transparent conductive oxide‐based rear electrodes are fabricated using vacuum‐deposition methods. Two different ST‐PSCs demonstrated a high light utilization efficiency value of 4.2 (PCE: 9.26% and AVT: 45.3 ...

Effects of Absorber Emissivity on Thermal Performance of a Solar Cavity Receiver

open access: yesAdvances in Condensed Matter Physics, 2014
Solar cavity receiver is a key component to realize the light-heat conversion in tower-type solar power system. It usually has an aperture for concentrated sunlight coming in, and the heat loss is unavoidable because of this aperture. Generally, in order

Hybrid Liquid Metal Cathode Enables High‐Performance Intrinsically Stretchable OLEDs

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We report a hybrid liquid metal (Hyb‐LM) cathode engineered via selective rupture of liquid metal particles (LMPs), forming a bilayer architecture with a surface liquid metal (LM) layer and underlying LMP layer, which has benefits of both LM and LMPs.
