Poly(acrylic acid) acts as a reaction‐time pH buffer during hydrothermal Sb2(S,Se)3 growth through its COOH/COO‐ equilibrium. When combined with ethanol‐regulated growth, this buffering strategy reduces Sb‐O related surface disorder, improves local electronic uniformity and carrier collection, and increases the champion solar‐cell efficiency to 10.25%,

Configuration‐Encoded Cell Alignment by Light‐Gated Silicon Photovoltaic Microcell Arrays
Light‐gated silicon photovoltaic microcells convert pulsed illumination into localized electrical cues. Arranging otherwise similar microcells into four‐lobed, six‐lobed, or circular patterns directs fibroblasts into corresponding local arrangements without wired stimulation.

Modeling heat generation due to soil amendment during soil solarization
Soil solarization is a non-chemical treatment of agricultural soil for the control of soil-borne pathogens and pests. To be most effective, the solarization process is undertaken when ambient temperatures are highest, often causing growers to lose the ...

Agroeconomic effect of soil solarization on fall-planted lettuce (Lactuca sativa)
The effects of summer soil solarization on the production and economics of four lettuce cultivars were evaluated in two plantings conducted during the fall growing season of 2001, to determine the feasibility of integrating strip-solarization in ...

Energetic Offset in Organic Solar Cells‐ Importance, Confusion and Outlook
Energetic offsets in organic solar cells (OSCs) remain a subject of debate due to measurement‐ and lab‐dependent discrepancies. This Perspective clarifies the physical origins of these variations and identifies temperature‐dependent electro‐optical methods as a reliable approach to obtain consistent offset values.

Magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) using MgO tunnel barriers face challenges of high resistance‐area product and low tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR). To discover alternative materials, Literature Enhanced Ab initio Discovery (LEAD) is developed. The LEAD‐predicted materials are theoretically evaluated, showing that MTJs with dusting of ScN or TiN on ...

Effect of Field Solarization on Control of Soil Nematodes [PDF]
1 ) Nematodes were greatly (upmost 99%) reduced in top10 cm soil of a field after the solarization for four-weeks by 0.02 mm polyethylene-film mulch in July, but survived in the deeper soil.

Single‐Chromophore Homojunction Organic Solar Cells: A Path to Simplicity and Efficiency
This perspective discusses how the intrinsic optoelectronic properties of organic semiconductors, their molecular packing in the solid‐state, and internal energetic gradients within a device can enable free‐charge carrier generation in homojunction organic solar cells.

Weed control and yield response of soil solarization with different plastic films in lettuce.
Phase out of most chemicals available for weed management renewed the interest in soil solarization as a technically effective and environmentally safe practice for lettuce weed control in hot summer areas. Properties of solarizing films and lettuce crop
