Solenoid-Operated Control Valves

Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1944
THE presentation of a paper on electric aircraft apparatus by manufacturers of hydraulic control equipment is very likely to lead to a discussion1,5 of the relative advantages and disadvantages of hydraulic and electric systems for accessory actuation.

Development of a high-speed solenoid valve: investigation of solenoids

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 1995
The authors have developed a high-speed solenoid valve with a 1 ms switching time to control diesel engines electronically. In this paper, the authors focused their attention on developing the solenoid itself, investigating methods to be used for the fast operation of the solenoid valve.

Modelling a Solenoid’s Valve Movement

2018
Solenoid Valves are broadly used as electromechanical actuators when robustness and strength are needed. More specifically, in the Warthog Robotics group project WRMagic, the solenoid is used as an impact generator to impulse a rigid body. The literature recommends to deeply understand the plunger’s movement in response to the applied voltage in the ...

Solenoid pinch valve

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1995
In order to minimize dead volume an ordinary solenoid valve, designed for 115 V, 60 cycles, is modified to serve as a neoprene tubing pinch valve operating reliably at 37 V dc.

Latching Solenoid Valve

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1973
A latching solenoid valvue, designed for the protection of vacuum systems, is described. In case of power failure, the latching mechanism is released by the action of a charged capacitor and the valve seals off the main part of the system. An air vent is incorporated in the valve.
