Application of Minkowski layer for microalloyed alumo-silicate ceramics grains fractal analysis [PDF]
Porous aluminium-silicate ceramics, modified by alloying with magnesium and microalloying with alluminium belongs to a group of advanced multifunctional ceramics materials. This multiphase solid-solid system has predominantly amorphous microstructure and

The subject of this work is the development of a corrosion‐protective coating on steel sheets for form hardening. Rapid heating in an extreme high vacuum (XHV)‐adequate atmosphere is a useful method to prevent oxidation during alloying of 22MnB5 and aluminum to obtain a metallurgical bonding.

Pulsed chronopotentiometric membrane electrodes based on plasticized poly(vinyl chloride) with covalently bound ferrocene functionalities as solid contact transducer [PDF]
Ion-selective membrane materials based on poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC)-containing covalently attached redox-active ferrocene (Fc) groups are characterized here as all-solid-state pulsed voltammetric ion sensors. The redox capacity of the membrane increases

Collagen hydrolysate is evaluated as a sustainable binder for MgO‐C refractories. Its thermally induced cross‐linking and gas release lead to expansion and cracking in large bricks, but tailored batches with lignin, recyclates, or fine graphite improve the gas release while thermal treatment and stability.

Moving particle simulation with solid-solid contact
Problems of fluid-structure interaction with free surface flow and multi-body interactions are highly nonlinear and complex phenomena, which is challenging for computational modeling and simulation. In the presence of contact or collision between solids, numerical modeling to detect collision and prevent penetration between bodies is required.

This paper presents a novel approach to reducing oxide layers on metal powders using low‐temperature hydrogen dielectric barrier discharge plasmas at atmospheric pressure. Unlike conventional hydrogen‐plasma reductions, the powders do not contact the plasma directly.

Surface wettability analysis using a microdroplet: a numerical approach
Analysis of hydrophobicity is essential for learning about the characteristics of molecules, surfaces, and materials that reject water. Using a two-dimensional (2D) pseudo-potential multiphase lattice Boltzmann approach with a D2Q9 model, this work ...
