Crystal to crystal transformation in the solid state
CrystEngComm, 2004Either co-milling or simple mixing of benzoquinone (BQ) and diol crystals of varied melting point temperature produces adduct crystals through very slow and gradual molecular diffusion processes in the solid state. Their formation process was compared and discussed based on the crystal structures of the starting diols and the diol–BQ adducts.

Kinetics of polymorphic solid-state transformations
Journal of the Chemical Society, Faraday Transactions 2, 1984Solid-state polymorphic transformations can have a profound influence on the processing and storage of some crystalline powders. Using classical models of nucleation and growth a framework is developed which highlights the importance of crystal size on the transformation rate.

A solid-state transformation in 1,5-dichloroanthraquinone
Journal of Applied Crystallography, 19791,5-Dichloroanthraquinone undergoes a solid-state transformation at 470 K. The two modifications are very similar, except that a is greater than b above the transition temperature and the inverse is true at room temperature.
