A solid-state relay for transformer switching

International Journal of Electronics, 1986
A static relay, which can distinguish the magnetizing inrush current from the short-circuit current of a transformer is suggested. This eliminates the use of the desensitizing arrangement or the costly harmonic-current-restraint relay but preserves the inherent features of an over-current relay and the advantages of a static relay.

Solid-State Transformations

2012
Abstract This chapter discusses the characteristics of eutectoid transformations, a type of solid-state transformation associated with invariant reactions, focusing on the iron-carbon system of steel. It describes the compositions, characteristics, and properties of ferrite, eutectoid, hypoeutectoid, and hypereutectoid structures and how

Crystal to crystal transformation in the solid state

CrystEngComm, 2004
Either co-milling or simple mixing of benzoquinone (BQ) and diol crystals of varied melting point temperature produces adduct crystals through very slow and gradual molecular diffusion processes in the solid state. Their formation process was compared and discussed based on the crystal structures of the starting diols and the diol–BQ adducts.

Solid State Phase Transformations

2004
The crystal structure of a metal is not necessarily stable at all temperatures below the melting temperature. This is due to the fact that the solid always assumes the crystal structure with the lowest Gibbs free energy, even if there are other crystal structures with a slightly higher free energy.

Kinetics of polymorphic solid-state transformations

Journal of the Chemical Society, Faraday Transactions 2, 1984
Solid-state polymorphic transformations can have a profound influence on the processing and storage of some crystalline powders. Using classical models of nucleation and growth a framework is developed which highlights the importance of crystal size on the transformation rate.

Solid-State Transformations in Metal Iodides

Solid State Phenomena, 2008
Numerous solid-state transformations occur in metal iodides. These transformations can be classified into three categories: polymorphic transformations, polytypic transitions and molecular solids. Many of the modifications of metal iodides involve metastable phases transforming into stable phases.

A novel topology of solid state transformer

2010 1st Power Electronic & Drive Systems & Technologies Conference (PEDSTC), 2010
This paper introduces a new topology for implementing a solid state transformer. The advantages of the proposed topology include a reduced number of SiC MOSFETs, lower cost and smaller switching losses. Simulation results are given to demonstrate the performance of the proposed topology.

Solid state of aceclofenac: characterization, transformation

Journal of Pharmaceutical Investigation, 2012
The objective of this work was to investigate the existence of polymorphs and pseudopolymorphs of aceclofenac which is a peripherally acting, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory analgesic with anti-inflammatory, antiarthritic and antipyretic activities.

A solid-state transformation in 1,5-dichloroanthraquinone

Journal of Applied Crystallography, 1979
1,5-Dichloroanthraquinone undergoes a solid-state transformation at 470 K. The two modifications are very similar, except that a is greater than b above the transition temperature and the inverse is true at room temperature.

Solid-State Transformations in Weldments

1993
Abstract Solid-state transformations occurring in a weld are highly nonequilibrium in nature and differ distinctly from those experienced during casting, thermomechanical processing, and heat treatment. This article focuses on welding metallurgy of fusion welding of steels and highlights the fundamental principles that form the basis of ...
