Raman gain measurement in solid parahydrogen

We report a steady-state Raman gain measurement of the Q(1)(0) transition (v = 1 ? 0, J = 0 ? 0) in solid parahydrogen. We carry out measurements by pumping with a continuous-wave frequency-doubled YAG laser at 532 nm and observing the direct amplification of a probe-laser beam for the first Stokes transition at 683 nm.

Gain in solid-state travelling-wave amplifiers

A one-dimensional gain equation for the solid-state traveling-wave amplifier is derived including the effects of cold-circuit attenuation, diffusion, collision damping, and asynchronous drift velocity. It is shown that for the synchronous case a growing-mode solution exists. The gain of a typical InSb device is found to be +4.38 dB/cm.

All-solid-state gain-switched Cr4+:forsterite laser

Abstract We developed an all-solid-state Cr4+:forsterite laser pumped by a kHz Q-switched diode-pumped Nd:YAG oscillator. The laser is tunable from 1190 to 1310 nm, and generates pulses with duration ≈ 70–100 ns and maximum energy ≈ 14 μJ at 1230 nm, corresponding to a pumping efficiency ≈ 10%.

While municipalities frequently resist imports, the interpretations of the Interstate Commerce Clause require that landfills accept waste regardless of its origin.
