Cubanes As Solid Propellant Ingredients
SPIE Proceedings, 1988Nine diesters of cubane 1,4-dicarboxylic acid were synthesized and evaluated as advanced propellant plasticizers. Three energetic cubyl ammonium salts of amino and 1,4-diamino cubane were synthesized as models for more highly substituted cubyl ammonium salt oxidizers.

Oscillatory burning of solid composite propellants
Symposium (International) on Combustion, 1963Analytical consideration of the interaction of an oscillatory pressure disturbance with the burning zone of a composite propellant leads to the conclusion that acoustic waves induce periodic variations in the ratio of the mass release rates of composite propellant components that give rise to harmonic composition and adiabatic flame temperature ...

Solid Propellants and Astronautics
1955It ist shown that solid propellants can be useful for certain astronautical operations. A critical review of solid propellants and motor systems is presented. It is pointed out that solid propellants compare very favorably with liquid propellants especially for applications in high altitude rockets and in boosters for space aggregates.

Solid propellant sandwich deflagration analysis
12th Aerospace Sciences Meeting, 1974A theoretical solution has been obtained for the shape of a deflagrating ammonium perchlorate surface when it is adjacent to an inert, pyrolysing, dry binder. The eigenvalue, the regression rate, is shown to be independent of binder type and very close to the burn rate of pure AP, as has been experimentally observed.
