Solid State Multicolor Emission in Substitutional Solid Solutions of Metal-Organic Frameworks.
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2019Preparing crystalline materials that produce tunable organic-based multicolor emission is a challenge due to the inherent inability to control the packing of organic molecules in the solid state.

Fast solute diffusion in solid and supersaturated solid solutions
Phase Transitions, 1988Abstract In this paper, we review the experimental data concerning fast diffusion of solute in Pb matrix and Pb (solute) solid solutions. Using both calorimetric and radiotracer techniques the temperature dependence of solute diffusion coefficients in Pb (solute) supersaturated solid solutions is determined.

Direct electrosynthesis of pure aqueous H2O2 solutions up to 20% by weight using a solid electrolyte
Science, 2019A direct route to pure peroxide Despite the widespread use of hydrogen peroxide as an oxidant and disinfectant, its commercial synthesis still requires inefficient concentration and purification steps. Xia et al. now report an electrochemical approach to

A physics-informed deep learning framework for inversion and surrogate modeling in solid mechanics
Computer Methods in Applied Mechanics and Engineering, 2021We present the application of a class of deep learning, known as Physics Informed Neural Networks (PINN), to inversion and surrogate modeling in solid mechanics. We explain how to incorporate the momentum balance and constitutive relations into PINN, and

CuInSe 2 , AgInSe 2 , ternary compounds and Cu 1-x Ag x InSe 2 solid solutions were synthesized by one-temperature method. The composition and structure of indicated materials were established by chemical and X-ray analysis methods, lattice constants, values of σ positional parameter and bond lengths were also calculated.

Superhard Tungsten Diboride-Based Solid Solutions.
Inorganic Chemistry, 2018Solid solutions of tungsten diboride (WB2) with increasing substitution of tungsten (W) by tantalum (Ta) and niobium (Nb)-ranging from 0 to 50 at. % on a metals basis-were synthesized through resistive arc melting.

Solid solution strengthening and weakening of b.c.c. solid solutions
Acta Metallurgica, 1969Abstract Tension and compression tests were conducted on single crystal samples of tantalum and tantalum-base solid solutions as a function of temperature and strain rate. The activation parameters were investigated as a function of stress and strain.

Real solutions of practical interest to Earth scientists do not behave ideally, although some do come fairly close. The problem of course lies in the stringent and unrealistic physical models we have prescribed for ideal solutions. The molecules of a gas do interact with each other, molecular forces within mixed component liquids really are non-uniform,

Abstract When a metal is alloyed with another metal, either substitutional or interstitial solid solutions are usually formed. This chapter discusses the general characteristics of these solutions and the effects of several alloying elements on the yield strength of pure metals.
