Fabrication of an Efficient Solid-State Dye-Sensitized Solar Cell

Langmuir, 2003
A highly efficient solid-state solar cell (TiO2/dye/CuI) with improved stability was fabricated by controlling the pore filling of the porous dyed TiO2 layer with molten salt capped CuI crystals and improving the TiO2 by necking with ZnO. The molten salt controls the CuI crystal growth and acts as a protective coating for CuI nanocrystals, and necking ...

Charge Transport in Solid-State Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells

The Journal of Physical Chemistry C, 2012
Charge Transport in Solid-State Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells ... The bands and potentials shown refer to an ideal (left) ss-DSC with no trap states and ionic additives, a different device with trap states and a density of 5 × 1017 cm–3 positive charges (D+) (middle) and a final cell with trap states and a density of 1018 cm–3 positive charges (D+) (right)

Solid-State Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells: Current State of the Art - Challenges and Opportunities [PDF]

open access: possible, 2008
The first generation of dye-sensitized solar cell technology is based on a liquid electrolyte component. Today, this technology is on the verge of commercialization. The step towards the market and real applications is supported by the prospect low manufacturing costs, good efficiency as well as the expectation that the current stability level of this ...

Investigation of the stability of solid-state dye-sensitized solar cells

Research on Chemical Intermediates, 2007
The stability of the TiO2/ruthenium dye/CuI solid-state solar cell was investigated under continuous simulated sunlight illumination. The cells showed fast degradation under full-spectrum sunlight illumination, but showed rather good stability when the ultraviolet part of the illumination was removed.

High Open-Circuit Voltage Solid-State Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells with Organic Dye

Nano Letters, 2009
Solid-state dye-sensitized solar cells were fabricated using an organic dye, 2-cyanoacrylic acid-4-(bis-dimethylfluoreneaniline)dithiophene (JK2), which exhibits more than 1 V open-circuit potential (V(oc)). To scrutinize the origin of high voltage in these cells, transient V(oc) decay measurements and density functional theroy calculations of the ...

A Broadly Absorbing Perylene Dye for Solid-State Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells

The Journal of Physical Chemistry C, 2009
We present a new perylene sensitizer, ID 176, for dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs). The dye has the capability for very high photocurrents due to strong absorption from 400 to over 700 rim.
