Surface engineering of solid-state dye-sensitized solar cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The way that molecules interact with interfaces play a key role in the manufacture and performance of solid-state dye-sensitized solar cells (ssDSC). In\ud order to maximise the performance of ssDSC, it is important to understand the interactions and to subsequently optimise them.

Benzo[c][1,2,5]Thiadiazole Linkers Enhance the Effectiveness of Cavity‐Containing Supramolecular Photocatalysts

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Seven novel supramolecular photosensitizers based on benzo[c][1,2,5]thiadiazole (BTZ) tethered to calix[4]arene (C[4]) scaffolds are reported with facile, scalable, and selective syntheses. Their abilities to produce singlet oxygen have been tested through the photo‐oxidation of α‐terpinene.

Transition Metal Compounds as Thermochromic Materials: Classification, Properties, Limitations, and Applications

open access: yesEcoEnergy, EarlyView.
This review systematically examines how different transition metal compounds—such as binary and multinary metal oxides, halides, sulfides, and salts—exhibit thermochromism based on the d‐electron configurations of their transition metal cations. It focuses on three main mechanisms of thermochromism: phase transition, charge transfer, and bandgap change.

Interface engineering in solid-state dye-sensitized solar cells

open access: yes, 2003
Dye-sensitised nanocrystalline solar cells are currently subject of intense research in the framework of renewable energies as a low-cost photovoltaic device. In particular dye-sensitised cells based on spiro-MeOTAD have gained attention as promising approach towards an organic solid-state solar cell.

Stabilization Strategies for Carbon Based Perovskite Solar Cells Under Light, Heat, and Humidity

open access: yesEcoEnergy, EarlyView.
Carbon‐based MA1−x(AVA)xPbI3/CsPbBr3 QD heterostructures fabricated under ambient conditions exhibit < 5% loss under ISOS‐D‐3 and reversible photo‐induced degradation, revealing the dual role of QDs in defect passivation and dynamic interfacial stabilization.
