NKG2D-CAR-targeted iPSC-derived MSCs efficiently target solid tumors expressing NKG2D ligand

open access: yesiScience
Summary: Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) hold potential in cancer therapy; however, insufficient tumor homing ability and heterogeneity limit their therapeutic benefits.

Stressed target cancer cells drive nongenetic reprogramming of CAR T cells and solid tumor microenvironment

open access: yesNature Communications, 2023
The poor efficacy of chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy (CAR T) for solid tumors is due to insufficient CAR T cell tumor infiltration, in vivo expansion, persistence, and effector function, as well as exhaustion, intrinsic target antigen ...

Heating in collisions of solids: Possible application to impact craters [PDF]

open access: yesSerbian Astronomical Journal, 2012
Due to the importance of collisions and impacts in early phases of the evolution of the planetary system, it is interesting to estimate the heating of a solid target due to an impact on it.

Lorlatinib‐Containing Therapy for MYCN‐Amplified, ALK‐Mutated Neuroblastoma With Bulky Leptomeningeal Relapse: A Case Report

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Central nervous system (CNS) relapse of neuroblastoma carries a poor prognosis, and craniospinal irradiation (CSI) poses substantial long‐term toxicity in young children. We report a toddler with MYCN‐amplified neuroblastoma harboring somatic ALK R1275Q who developed extensive leptomeningeal relapse with paraplegia.

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Modelling of Tirapazamine effects on solid tumour morphology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Bioreductive drugs are in clinical practice to exploit the resistance from tumour microenvironments especially in the hypoxic region of tumour. We pre-sented a tumour treatment model to capture the pharmacology of one of the most prominent bioreductive ...

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Monte-Carlo simulation with FLUKA for solid Mo-100 target

open access: yes, 2017
The influence of proton beam profile and beam angle impinging a solid Mo-100 target at 24 MeV has been studied with the Monte-Carlo code FLUKA. The yield of Tc-99m is dependent on both the profile and the angle, with the extreme case of a reduction of ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.
