Every patient with a recurrent malignant process should be considered for chemotherapy, but strict guidelines must be followed in selection of patients.

Tumor Lysis Syndrome in Solid Tumors
Supportive Cancer Therapy, 2005Tumor lysis syndrome (TLS) consists of acute hyperuricemic nephropathy, hyperphosphatemia, hypocalcemia, hyperkalemia, and increased serum creatinine. It can be part of the disease presentation, especially in aggressive hematologic malignancies, or a part of the chemotherapy response. There are relatively few reports of TLS in solid tumors.

Neonatal Malignant Solid Tumors
Tumori Journal, 1990We reviewed the 8 malignant solid tumors in children less than 1 month of age observed at the Pediatric Surgical Department of Padua University from 1968 to 1985. These were 6 neuroblastomas, 1 Wilms' tumor and 1 angiosarcoma; 5/8 are alive without evidence of disease with a median follow-up of 8 years.
