Carbohydrate-aromatic interface and molecular architecture of lignocellulose
The plant biomass is a composite formed by a variety of polysaccharides and an aromatic polymer named lignin. Here, the authors use solid-state NMR spectroscopy to unveil the carbohydrate-aromatic interface that leads to the variable architecture of ...

LEFT-EDGE SOLID VARIETIES OF DIFFERENTIAL GROUPOIDS
The authors study the variety of groupoids given by the identities \((xy)(uv)=(xu)(yv)\), \(xx=x\) and \(x(xy)=x\) which they denote by \(DG\) and the dual variety of groupoids \(RR\). To these varieties the authors apply the theory of \(M\)-hypersubstitutions and \(M\)-solid varieties [see \textit{K. Denecke} and \textit{M. Reichel}, Contrib.

ABSTRACT Background Transfusion‐related iron overload (TRIO) is a late effect of therapy impacting survivors of childhood cancer and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) who receive frequent packed red blood cell (pRBC) transfusions. Surprisingly, there are no accepted guidelines to assist providers in identifying and treating at‐risk ...

A microfabricated sensor for thin dielectric layers
We describe a sensor for the measurement of thin dielectric layers capable of operation in a variety of environments. The sensor is obtained by microfabricating a capacitor with interleaved aluminum fingers, exposed to the dielectric to be measured.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Quenched Dislocation Enhanced Supersolid Ordering [PDF]
I show using Landau theory that quenched dislocations can facilitate the supersolid (SS) to normal solid (NS) transition, making it possible for the transition to occur even if it does not in a dislocation-free crystal.
