Solidification and leaching behaviours of Cr6+ in sludge ceramsite

Journal of Hazardous Materials, 2008
Making lightweight ceramsite with sewage sludge is a new effective approach for disposal of sludge. However, there is a concern as to whether the heavy metals such as Cr6+ in sewage sludge can be solidified in ceramsite after sintering. The configuration of Cr6+ in ceramsite was analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and leaching tests were conducted to ...

Study on the solidification cracking behaviour of high strength aluminum alloy welds: Effects of alloying elements and solidification behaviours

Journal of Materials Science, 1996
The solidification cracking susceptibility of the 7000 series Al-Zn-Mg high strength aluminum alloy has been studied. The cracking behaviour of the specimens were evaluated by a Tig-a-Ma-Jig Varestraint test process under various augmented strain conditions.

Solidification behaviour of undercooled equiatomic FeCuNi alloy

Journal of Alloys and Compounds, 2020
Abstract Studies on solidification of equiatomic multi-component alloys are essential in developing melt-route processing of high entropy alloys. The extent of undercooling during processing controls microstructure evolution. In this study, we present solidification studies on undercooled equiatomic FeCuNi alloy carried out using melt fluxing ...

Facetting behaviour of Al2Cu during solidification

Journal of Crystal Growth, 1981
Abstract The shapes of the solid-liquid interfaces of Al2Cu in front of various Al-Cu liquid alloys were observed using in situ electron microscopy during solidification or scanning electron microscopy afterwards. The change in morphology (from non faceted at the eutectic composition to faceted at the Al2Cu composition) allowed us to sort the facets ...

Solidification Behaviour of the Al2Cu Phase

International Journal of Materials Research, 1996
The A1-Cu phase diagram was redetermined in the concentration range between 31 and 37.5 at.% Cu applying differential thermal analysis, magnetothermal analysis and optical microscopy. The solubility of the Al 2 Cu phase which is formed in a peritectic reaction at 592° C ranges at 549° C from 32.05 to 32.6 at.% Cu and at 250° C from 32.4 to 32.8 at.% Cu.

Solidification behaviour of TiAl-based alloys studied by directional solidification technique

Intermetallics, 2011
Abstract Solidification behaviour of TiAl-based alloys with the nominal chemical composition Ti–46Al–8Ta and Ti–46Al–8Nb (at.%) was studied at steady- and unsteady-state conditions in Y 2 O 3 moulds using Bridgman solidification technique. The effect of growth parameters (growth rate V and temperature gradient G L ) on primary solidification ...
