Solidification behaviour of binary organic monotectic alloys

Thermochimica Acta, 1996
The solid-liquid equilibrium data on a faceted-nonfaceted system involving diphenyl and succinonitrile show the formation of a eutectic (0.9679 mole fraction of succinonitrile) and a monotectic (0.0742 mole fraction of succinonitrile) with a liquid miscibility gap in the system.

Solidification behaviour of binary organic eutectic alloys

Crystal Research and Technology, 1994
AbstractThe phase diagrams of binary organic faceted‐faceted systems of p‐dibromobenzene with acenaphthene, p‐chloronitrobenzene and acetanilide show the formation of a simple eutectic with 0.53, 0.61, and 0.64 mole fraction of p‐dibromobenzene, respectively.

Solidification behaviour of droplets in spray deposition

Powder Metallurgy, 2005
AbstractIn spray deposition, a stream of molten metal is atomised with an inert gas to form a spray of molten droplets; these are then accelerated towards a substrate where they impinge and consolidate. Near-net shape products can be manufactured by technologies involving solidification and droplet consolidation.

Solidification behaviour of Fe–Gd–Mo alloys

Journal of Alloys and Compounds, 1999
Abstract Microstructures of the solidified Fe–Gd–Mo ternary alloys have been examined using optical and scanning electron microscopy. The nature and chemical composition of the different phases present have been determined by electron probe X-ray microanalysis and X-ray diffraction.

Solidification behaviour of binary sitosteryl esters mixtures

Food Research International, 2002
Phytosterol esters are known for their blood cholesterol lowering effect and have consequently been incorporated into vegetable oil table-spread products. In furtherance to gaining knowledge about these materials in a fat-blend environment, the current work describes the phase-diagram based thermal characteristics of a series of β-sitosterol alkyl ...

Solidification simulation of single-phase Fe–Co–Cr–Ni–V high entropy alloy

Philosophical Magazine A, 2022
For the first time, we report here the heat transfer and solidification behaviour of Fe–Co–Cr–Ni–V single-phase face centred cubic (FCC) high entropy alloy (HEA) by adopting synergistic approach involving numerical simulation and experimental techniques.

Microencapsulated PCM in the cement brick cavity: analysis of melting and solidification behaviour

International Journal of Ambient Energy, 2022
The use of latent heat storage systems using phase change materials is becoming increasingly popular for passive building cooling applications. This paper introduces a novel cement brick design in which a microencapsulated PCM MEP29 is directly filled ...

Hot Cracking Susceptibility in Duplex Stainless Steel Welds

Materials Science Forum, 2018
The hot cracking (solidification cracking) susceptibility in the weld metals of duplex stainless steels were quantitatively evaluated by Transverse-Varestraint test with gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) and laser beam welding (LBW).

Solidification Behaviour of Benzamide‐β‐Naphthol Eutectic System

Crystal Research and Technology, 1993
AbstractPhase diagram studies have revealed that benzamide forms a simple eutectic with β‐naphthol. Linear velocity of crystallization and heat of fusion measurements have shown that the eutectic does not follow the mixture law. Microstructural studies have shown that the microstructure of the mixtures depend on the composition, the degree of ...
