Fe─NC porous oxygen reduction electrocatalysts are prepared employing a 2,4,6‐Triaminopyrimidine‐based porous organic polymer, a Mg2+ Lewis acid, and a low‐temperature cation exchange protocol. Using the polymer precursor achieves high pyrolysis yields and results in atomically dispersed FeNx sites. The resulting catalysts feature hierarchical porosity

Large amplitude solitary waves in and near the Earth’s magnetosphere, magnetopause and bow shock: Polar and Cluster observations [PDF]
Solitary waves with large electric fields (up to 100's of mV/m) have been observed throughout the magnetosphere and in the bow shock. We discuss observations by Polar at high altitudes ( ~ 4-8 RE ), during crossings of the plasma sheet boundary and ...

MAPS, PDE'S AND SOLITARY WAVES
We describe a map-based model which reproduces many of the behaviors seen in partial differential equations (PDE's). Like PDE's, we show that this model can support an infinite number of stationary solutions, traveling solutions, breathing solutions, and elastically colliding solutions. Unlike PDE's, the model can be applied with minimal computational

Fluorescent nanodiamonds (fNDs) have emerged as an invaluable quantum sensing platform for biological and biochemical systems. This paper investigates the influence of common surface functionalization strategies for bioconjugation on the quantum properties of nitrogen vacancy (NV) centers in nanodiamonds.

Transition metal oxy/carbo‐nitrides show great promise as catalysts for sustainable processes. A Mn‐Mo mixed‐metal oxynitride attains remarkable performance for the direct synthesis of acetonitrile, an important commodity chemical, via sequential C─N and C─C coupling from syngas (C1) and ammonia (N1) feedstocks.

Electrostatic Solitary Waves in Earth's Magnetosheath: Properties, Nature, and Origin
We present the analysis of 2,152 electrostatic solitary waves observed aboard the Magnetospheric Multiscale in the Earth's magnetosheath. The electric field of the solitary waves is predominantly bipolar and parallel to the local magnetic field.

In Situ Amine Formation to Modulate MOF‐Derived PdIn N‐Doped Carbon Catalysts
An amine‐assisted approach converts PdIn‐MOF into PdIn intermetallic nanoparticles embedded in N‐doped carbon. In situ‐generated amines trigger early Pd nucleation, producing smaller PdIn domains than direct pyrolysis. Amine sterics and basicity tune composition and particle size, while solvent and amine co‐determine textural features.
