N-Soliton Solutions of the Nonisospectral Generalized Sawada-Kotera Equation

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematical Physics, 2014
The soliton interaction is investigated based on solving the nonisospectral generalized Sawada-Kotera (GSK) equation. By using Hirota method, the analytic one-, two-, three-, and N-soliton solutions of this model are obtained.

Advancing Energy Materials by In Situ Atomic Scale Methods

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 15, Issue 11, March 18, 2025.
Progress in in situ atomic scale methods leads to an improved understanding of new and advanced energy materials, where a local understanding of complex, inhomogeneous systems or interfaces down to the atomic scale and quantum level is required. Topics from photovoltaics, dissipation losses, phase transitions, and chemical energy conversion are ...

Quantum‐Mechanical Wave Functions in Singular Potentials: Linear and Nonlinear States

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
The attractive singular potential −1/r2$-1/r^2$ gives rise to the quantum collapse in the 3D linear Schroedinger equation. The article summarizes theoretical results demonstrating suppression of the collapse and creation of the missing ground state (GS) in a gas of bosonic particles, carrying an electric dipole moment, which are pulled to the central ...

Polarization‐Dependence of Nonlinear Optical Effects in Silicon: The Case of Ultrafast Processing

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
The dependence of the input polarization for the nonlinear optical propagation in silicon is investigated theoretically and experimentally. The perturbative regime is examined using pump‐probe shadowgraphy and nonlinear transmission, whereas the case of permanent laser‐induced modifications is addressed using a combination of Raman micro‐spectroscopy ...

Strong interactions between solitons and background light in Brillouin-Kerr microcombs

open access: yesNature Communications
Dissipative Kerr-soliton combs are laser pulses regularly sustained by a localized solitary wave on top of a continuous-wave background inside a nonlinear resonator.

Dynamic process of dissipative soliton build-up in mode-locked fiber laser

open access: yesResults in Optics, 2023
We experimentally studied the dynamic process of dissipative soliton build-up by dispersive Fourier transform in net normal dispersion cavity. The oscillation of spectral bandwidth and pulse energy before the stabilization of dissipative soliton was ...

Peregrine Solitons Beyond the Threefold Limit and Their Two-Soliton Interactions [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2018
Within the coupled Fokas-Lenells equations framework, we show explicitly that, in contrast to the expected threefold-amplitude magnification, Peregrine solitons can reach a peak amplitude as high as 5 times the background level. Besides, the interaction of two such anomalous Peregrine solitons can generate a spikelike rogue wave of extremely high peak ...

Interface Engineering in Piezoelectric‐on‐Insulator Platforms: Coupling of Electrons, Photons, and Phonons for Multifunctional Integration

open access: yesElectron, EarlyView.
The underlying interface physics and engineering strategies across key POI material systems, including LiNbO3/Si, LiNbO3/SiC, LiNbO3/diamond, and AlN/diamond, were reviewed. The key engineering strategies such as atomic‐scale bonding optimization, nanostructuring, ultrathin phonon‐bridge interlayers, and ferroelectric domain wall engineering for ...

Harnessing Optical Limiting in Saturable Absorbers for Reconfigurable Spectral Engineering of Ultrafast Fiber Lasers

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Optical limiting in a nanomaterial‐polymer saturable absorber is harnessed as a functional intracavity degree of freedom, where pump‐controlled photothermal loss continuously reshapes the gain spectrum of rare‐earth ions, enabling non‐mechanical spectral engineering in an ultrafast fiber laser.

The interaction of two Hopf solitons [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2000
This Letter deals with topological solitons in an O(3) sigma model in three space dimensions (with a Skyrme term to stabilize their size). The solitons are classified topologically by their Hopf number N. The N=2 sector is studied; in particular, for two solitons far apart, there are three ``attractive channels''.
