Near‐Infrared Cocrystal Nanofluorophore with Enhanced Two‐Photon Absorption Cross Sections

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, organic cocrystal nanoparticles (BP4TC‐NPs) were prepared via a nanoprecipitation method using an amphiphilic surfactant. The resulting cocrystal nanoparticles exhibit exceptional nonlinear optical properties and bioimaging capabilities.

Emergence of Solitons from Irregular Waves in Deep Water

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2021
Numerical simulations were performed to study the long-distance evolution of irregular waves in deep water. It was observed that some solitons, which are the theoretical solutions of the nonlinear Schrödinger equation, emerged spontaneously as irregular ...

Topological Aspects of Spin and Statistics in Nonlinear Sigma Models

open access: yes, 1992
We study the purely topological restrictions on allowed spin and statistics of topological solitons in nonlinear sigma models. Taking as space the connected $d$-manifold $X$, and considering nonlinear sigma models with the connected manifold $M$ as ...

Advancing Energy Materials by In Situ Atomic Scale Methods

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 15, Issue 11, March 18, 2025.
Progress in in situ atomic scale methods leads to an improved understanding of new and advanced energy materials, where a local understanding of complex, inhomogeneous systems or interfaces down to the atomic scale and quantum level is required. Topics from photovoltaics, dissipation losses, phase transitions, and chemical energy conversion are ...

Fermionic bright soliton in a boson-fermion mixture

open access: yes, 2005
We use a time-dependent dynamical mean-field-hydrodynamic model to study the formation of fermionic bright solitons in a trapped degenerate Fermi gas mixed with a Bose-Einstein condensate in a quasi-one-dimensional cigar-shaped geometry.

Soliton spheres [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 2011
Soliton spheres are immersed 2–spheres in the conformal 4–sphereS4=HP1S^4=\mathbb {HP}^1that allow rational, conformal parametrizationsf:CP1→HP1f\colon \mathbb {CP}^1\rightarrow \mathbb {HP}^1obtained via twistor projection and dualization from rational curves inCP2n+1\mathbb {CP}^{2n+1}.

Degree theory for 4‐dimensional asymptotically conical gradient expanding solitons

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, EarlyView.
Abstract We develop a new degree theory for 4‐dimensional, asymptotically conical gradient expanding solitons. Our theory implies the existence of gradient expanding solitons that are asymptotic to any given cone over S3$S^3$ with non‐negative scalar curvature. We also obtain a similar existence result for cones whose link is diffeomorphic to S3/Γ$S^3/\

Real‐Time Observation of the Formation of Dual‐Wavelength Mode Locking

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, 2022
Dual‐wavelength mode‐locking lasers delivering asynchronous dual‐color solitons are excellent sources for dual‐comb spectroscopies. Up to now, diverse approaches have been developed to implement dual‐wavelength lasers.

Suprathermal Soliton Solutions to Nonlinear Schrödinger Equation

open access: yesContributions to Plasma Physics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Maxwell distributions are very difficult to find in the low‐pressure environment far away the Earth atmosphere, permeated by high temperatures, various types of radiation, highly energetic particles, space debris, and subjected to microgravity, presenting crucial challenges for spacecraft design and operations, and affecting astronaut's health.
