MIXED LYMPHOCYTE REACTION-INDUCED RELEASE OF SOLUBLE IL-2 RECEPTOR

open access: bronzeTransplantation, 1991
We studied the release of soluble interleukin 2 receptor (sIL-2R) by PBMC in mixed lymphocyte reaction (MLR) in order to clarify the significance of high plasma levels of sIL-2R in transplant patients undergoing rejection. Levels of sIL-2R were shown to increase progressively after the first day of the MLR and reached their peak on day 5.

Soluble IL-2 receptor levels in serum from blood donors seropositive for HIV. [PDF]

open access: bronzeThe Journal of Immunology, 1988
Abstract Serum levels of soluble IL-2R (sIL-2R) were measured in blood donors seropositive for HIV. Approximately one-half (53/101) of these seropositive donors exhibited increased serum sIL-2R levels compared with seronegative controls (n = 65).

Chitotriosidase and soluble IL‐2 receptor: Comparison of two markers of sarcoidosis severity

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Clinical and Laboratory Investigation, 2008
Sarcoidosis is a multisystemic granulomatous disease with an unpredictable clinical course characterized by accumulation of activated proliferating T lymphocytes and mononuclear phagocytes in affected organs. The aims of this study were to describe the clinical, radiological and immunological features of a population of sarcoidosis patients followed at ...

Serum-Soluble IL-2 Receptor and IL-6 Levels in Patients with Melanoma [PDF]

open access: possibleOncology, 1997
Elevated soluble IL-2 receptor (sIL-2R) and IL-6 serum concentrations have been reported as adverse prognostic factors in several types of cancer. In order to determine whether these factors are predictive of metastatic progression in melanoma, sIL-2R and IL-6 levels were measured in sera from 172 patients with melanoma and 60 in healthy controls. Mean

Soluble IL-2 receptor in rheumatoid arthritis. Correlation with disease activity, IL-1 and IL-2 inhibition.

open access: yesThe Journal of Immunology, 1988
Abstract An ELISA was used to measure soluble IL-2R (sIL-2R) in the sera and synovial fluids of patients with rheumatic diseases. Patients with rheumatoid arthritis had raised levels of sIL-2R both in their sera and in their synovial fluid compared to patients with osteoarthritis and age-matched healthy controls.

Soluble IL-2 receptor as an agent of serum-mediated suppression in human visceral leishmaniasis.

The Journal of Immunology, 1991
Abstract In visceral leishmaniasis (VL), patient's lymphocytes are not activated by leishmania Ag stimulation, and their sera exhibit a potent nonspecific suppressive effect on the responses of normal lymphocytes. Sera were obtained from 33 VL patients, eight patients with subclinical VL, and from 27 normal volunteers.
