Psychosocial Functioning After Pediatric Bone Sarcoma: Generic and Survivor‐Specific Outcomes in Adolescent and Young Adult Patients

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Pediatric bone sarcoma patients and survivors may experience psychosocial challenges related to childhood cancer after their intensive, body‐altering treatment. This cross‐sectional study aimed to evaluate generic and survivor‐specific psychosocial outcomes in a national cohort of pediatric bone sarcoma patients and survivors, and ...

Incidence and Severity of Carboplatin‐Associated Hearing Loss in Children With Cancer Assessed by the SIOP Boston 2012 Ototoxicity Criteria

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Platinum‐based chemotherapy is known to cause severe and debilitating hearing loss, but unlike cisplatin, the true incidence of carboplatin‐induced hearing loss remains unclear. We evaluated functional hearing outcomes in children receiving carboplatin to determine the incidence and severity of ototoxicity. Procedure We identified a

Local Regularity For Elliptic Systems With p, q-Growth

open access: yesBruno Pini Mathematical Analysis Seminar, 2015
In this paper we consider quasilinear elliptic systems with p, q-growth. We discuss some aspects of the theory of regularity for systems and we state a local boundedness result for weak solutions, obtained in collaboration with P. Marcellini. Moreover, a

Solvent Design for High-Purity SiC Solution Growth

open access: yes2016 European Conference on Silicon Carbide & Related Materials (ECSCRM), 2016
In order to design a solvent for high-purity SiC solution growth, the impurity incorporation and the carbon solubility of various solvent materials have been investigated. Among the transition metal elements, the impurity elements of Cr, Ti, V and Hf are

T2* Magnetic Resonance Imaging Uncovers Hemosiderin Burden in Pediatric Hemophilia: A Call for Sensitive Imaging Biomarkers

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hemophilic arthropathy remains the leading morbidity in hemophilia despite modern prophylaxis, and early joint damage may be missed by routine exams. This study explored T2* MRI as a noninvasive biomarker of hemosiderin deposition in pediatric hemophilia.

Modeling of dendrite growth in undercooled solution sodium acetate trihydrate [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2019
The sodium acetate trihydrate is commonly used as energy storage phase change material in heating pads for body or hand warmer in cold climates. The undercooled melt of sodium acetate trihydrate kept at room temperature results in an exothermic reaction ...

Bacterial growth in ampholytic disinfectant solutions [PDF]

open access: yesLaboratory Animals, 1979
Summary Large numbers of live bacteria were isolated from solutions of 2 ampholytic disinfectants supplied from a built-in predosing system. They were resistant to and proliferated in these disinfectants. Bacteria were eradicated by employing a 3rd type of ampholytic disinfectant in the system.
