In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

On the Representations of M-Groups

open access: yesمجلة بغداد للعلوم, 2016
The main object of this paper is to study the representations of monomial groups and characters technique for representations of monomial groups. We refer to monomial groups by M-groups.

Corrigendum II to: “Characterization of Fitting p-groups whose proper subgroups are solvable” [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Group Theory and Applications, 2018
Unfortunately “Corrigendum to Characterizations of Fitting p-groups whose proper subgroups are solvable” contains an error in the conclusion part of Lemma 2.1 (c).

Automorphisms of solvable groups [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1962
It is important to note that in both these statements only the existence of integers t(p, n) and m(p) is claimed. The only specific information known is that in(2) =2, m (3) =2, and mi(5) = 3 (see [1 ]) . Even upper bounds for the values of t(p, n) and m(p) are not known to us.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Solvable Groups, Free Divisors and Nonisolated Matrix Singularities I: Towers of Free Divisors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We introduce a method for obtaining new classes of free divisors from representations $V$ of connected linear algebraic groups $G$ where $\dim(G)=\dim(V)$, with $V$ having an open orbit.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

On the space of left-orderings of virtually solvable groups [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We show that the space of left-orderings of a countable virtually solvable group is either finite or homeomorphic to a Cantor set. We also provide an explicit description of the space of left-orderings of $SOL=\Z^2\rtimes_T\Z$.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
