Solvatochromism of some hemicyanines
Journal of Molecular Liquids, 2013Abstract Solvatochromism of some hemicyanines dyes ( N -alkyl (methyl, hexyl and hexadecyl)-4-[(4- N , N -dimethylamino)styryl] pyridinium halides in 28 organic solvents has been investigated by using absorption and emission spectroscopy. The probes have inbuilt donor–acceptor system and the corresponding charge transfer bands are found to be solvent

Solvatochromism of BODIPY-Schiff Dye
The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2014A boron-dipyrrin chromophore connected with an o-hydroxyaryl aldimine by a diazo bridge (BODIPY-Schiff dye) has been developed. The photophysical properties of the BODIPY-Schiff dye have been investigated with UV, steady-state, and time-resolved fluorimetry.

One-Click solvatochromism Analysis: The SolvatoChrom web tool
Spectrochimica Acta Part A: Molecular and Biomolecular SpectroscopyCorrelation analysis of the effect of solvent solvation parameters on the spectral properties of compounds is an important task, as it helps interpret the experimentally observed sensitivity of spectral characteristics to the solvate environment.

Exploring the solvatochromic processes of carbon dots (C-dots) is significant for both fundamental science and their corresponding applications. At present, there are a few relevant concerns, such as the exact solvatochromic photophysical picture and positive and negative solvatochromism versus the composition and structure of C-dots, which have ...

Solvatochromic benzo[h] coumarins: Synthesis, solvatochromism, NLO and DFT study
Optical Materials, 2017Abstract Three benzo[h] coumarins were synthesized and analyzed for their potential NLOphoric properties. Coumarins were synthesized using Knoevenagel condensation method by reacting hydroxyl-naphthalene aldehyde with cyano-methylelene-benzazoles containing NH, O and S elements respectively as the active methylene compounds. The absorption maxima for

Solvatochromism of indonaphthol dye
Fibers and Polymers, 2008The solvatochromic behavior of indonaphthol dye was described. The UV/Vis absorption spectra of this compound have been studied in 5 solvents of different polarity. The solvatochromism of indonaphthol dye is discussed with the aid of semiempirical calculations.

A quantitative model of solvatochromism in a binary solvent system is presented. Although it is derived for merocyanine and betaine dyes, it explains a majority of known examples of solvatochromism in binary solvents. The model provides an estimation of equilibrium constants between particular types of solvates present therein.

Indole’s solvatochromism revisited
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1986The absorption and emission solvatochromism of five indole derivatives was studied by referring the shifts to the corresponding vapor-phase wave numbers. The emission results clearly demonstrate, in three cases, the change in the nature of the emitting state when the solvent polarity is increased.

Electrochromism and Solvatochromism
Angewandte Chemie International Edition in English, 1969AbstractThe position and the intensity of electronic bands are influenced by an electric field. Pronounced changes in the position of absorption bands are mainly due to the dipole moment of the molecule in the ground state and the change in the dipole moment during the excitation process, and pronounced changes in intensity are due to the field ...

Solvatochromism in supercritical fluids
Berichte der Bunsengesellschaft für physikalische Chemie, 1998AbstractSolvatochromic shifts of the five probe indicators 2‐nitroaniline, 4‐nitroaniline, 4‐nitroanisole, 4‐nitrophenol, and N,N‐dimethyl‐4‐nitroaniline have been used to specify the solvatochromic solubility parameters π* and β of the five pure fluids CO2, N2O, CClF3, SF6, and NH3 according to Kamlet, Abboud, and Taft by means of UV/VIS spectroscopy.
