Solvatochromism of BODIPY-Schiff Dye

The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2014
A boron-dipyrrin chromophore connected with an o-hydroxyaryl aldimine by a diazo bridge (BODIPY-Schiff dye) has been developed. The photophysical properties of the BODIPY-Schiff dye have been investigated with UV, steady-state, and time-resolved fluorimetry.

Solvatochromic benzo[h] coumarins: Synthesis, solvatochromism, NLO and DFT study

Optical Materials, 2017
Abstract Three benzo[h] coumarins were synthesized and analyzed for their potential NLOphoric properties. Coumarins were synthesized using Knoevenagel condensation method by reacting hydroxyl-naphthalene aldehyde with cyano-methylelene-benzazoles containing NH, O and S elements respectively as the active methylene compounds. The absorption maxima for

Indole’s solvatochromism revisited

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1986
The absorption and emission solvatochromism of five indole derivatives was studied by referring the shifts to the corresponding vapor-phase wave numbers. The emission results clearly demonstrate, in three cases, the change in the nature of the emitting state when the solvent polarity is increased.

One-Click solvatochromism Analysis: The SolvatoChrom web tool

Spectrochimica Acta Part A: Molecular and Biomolecular Spectroscopy
Correlation analysis of the effect of solvent solvation parameters on the spectral properties of compounds is an important task, as it helps interpret the experimentally observed sensitivity of spectral characteristics to the solvate environment.

Solvatochromism in supercritical fluids

Berichte der Bunsengesellschaft für physikalische Chemie, 1998
AbstractSolvatochromic shifts of the five probe indicators 2‐nitroaniline, 4‐nitroaniline, 4‐nitroanisole, 4‐nitrophenol, and N,N‐dimethyl‐4‐nitroaniline have been used to specify the solvatochromic solubility parameters π* and β of the five pure fluids CO2, N2O, CClF3, SF6, and NH3 according to Kamlet, Abboud, and Taft by means of UV/VIS spectroscopy.

Solvatochromism of indonaphthol dye

Fibers and Polymers, 2008
The solvatochromic behavior of indonaphthol dye was described. The UV/Vis absorption spectra of this compound have been studied in 5 solvents of different polarity. The solvatochromism of indonaphthol dye is discussed with the aid of semiempirical calculations.

Solvatochromic Carbon Dots

The Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters
Exploring the solvatochromic processes of carbon dots (C-dots) is significant for both fundamental science and their corresponding applications. At present, there are a few relevant concerns, such as the exact solvatochromic photophysical picture and positive and negative solvatochromism versus the composition and structure of C-dots, which have ...

Thermochromism and Solvatochromism in Solution

Monatshefte fuer Chemie/Chemical Monthly, 2001
The thermochromic behaviour of various coordination compounds in solution is discussed, with a special focus on cyclic diamine chelates. Thermally induced spin-crossover phenomena of iron(II) complexes are also considered. The solvatochromic behaviour of mixed-ligand complexes is presented in detail.

Solvatochromic and Fluorescence Behavior of Sulfisoxazole

Journal of Fluorescence, 2010
The Fluorescence spectroscopic and solvatochromic behavior of Sulfisoxazole, a sulfa drug with antimicrobial activities, in various pure solvents of different polarity and hydrogen bonding capability is reported. The fluorescence emission spectrum of sulfisoxazole was found to be solvent polarity dependent, where a notable red shift in emission maximum

Solvatochromism of β-Naphthol

The Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 1998
Excitation and emission fluorescence spectra of 2-naphthol and 2-methoxynaphthalene were measured in a series of pure solvents. The spectral shifts are correlated by the Kamlet−Taft parameters (π*, β, and α). As judged from the π* dependence, both molecules have a negligibly small dipole moment in their ground electronic state, which increases in the ...
