Studies on the Solvent Extraction of Rare Earth Metals From Fluorescent Lamp Waste Using Cyanex 923 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The growing need for materials such as rare earth metals (REMs) has focused attention towards their recovery from various end-of-life products. Fluorescent lamps are considered a viable target, and can be a source of up to six REMs: lanthanum, cerium ...

Determining an Efficient Solvent Extraction Parameters for Re-Refining of Waste Lubricating Oils [PDF]

open access: yesMehran University Research Journal of Engineering and Technology, 2012
Re-refining of vehicle waste lubricating oil by solvent extraction is one of the efficient and cheapest methods. Three extracting solvents MEK (Methyl-Ethyl-Ketone), 1-butanol, 2-propanol were determined experimentally for their performance based on ...

Forecasting the Dialysis Burden in Japan: Validation‐Based Projections of Prevalence and Incidence Through 2050

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Japan has one of the highest dialysis prevalence rates worldwide and a shrinking, aging population. Whether dialysis burden has entered a sustained post‐peak phase or whether recent declines partly reflect pandemic‐related disruptions remains uncertain.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Solvent Extr. Ion Exch. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
The extraction of gold from thiosulfate solutions with amine oxide and its mixture with amines has been studied, the results show that the amine oxide (TRAO) has a higher extraction ability for gold compared with tertiary amine.

Influence of diluent alkyl substitution on the extraction of Am(III) and Eu(III) by a 6,6’-bis(1,2,4-triazin-3-yl)-2,2’-bipyridine ligand dissolved in alkylated cyclohexanone Diluents [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Several alkylated cyclohexanones were investigated as potential diluents for the selective extraction of Am(III) from Eu(III) from nitric acid solutions by the CyMe4-BTBP ligand.
